many exercise jut to lose weight, but they do not realise that it is not enough just to have a slim waist. wht is more important is to keep healthy. and in order to do so, you need to include in your fitness regime cardiovascular exercises that workout your heart and your lungs.
you can choose from walking, jogging, cycling, rowing, swimming, aerobics or even go dancing.
but before you start any of these exercises, it is better you consult your physician. this is a mus for those who have heart related diseases.
another way of finding out whether you are doing the right thing or not is by observing whether you are gasping for air while doing the workout.
if that is the case, then you are definitely doing something wrong.

True that it is important that we also focus on cardiovascular exercises. But most people consider getting slim to boost up their self-esteem. It's important for them to look fit and stay fit. Anyway, in the process of doing that, I believe they could also go through some cardiovascular exercises.

hi ghanashyam !
you are so right. good healh is more important than a slim waist. people, especially women, sacrifice health just to have a slim body. i know of many women who have gotten sick because of poor eating habits and resting habits as well. they would rather maintain their stick figures rather than be health.
anyway, i am trying to lose weight as well. but my problem is, i can't seem to stop eating. i move a lot and do some exercise if i have the time, but knowing my body, i know that i can't lose weight just by mere exercise. i need to control my eating habits. oh well, i am so undisciplined. anyway, i hope to shed these extra 20 lbs that i have. please wish me well.
all the best. God bless you ghanashyam !

Fitness is definately ultra important for weight loss, as is a healthy diet. However, it is important to remember that it has to be balanced. A lot of people go in big bursts with exercise and therefore cant keep it up. to lose weight all you need to do is an hour a day 5 days a week of cardio exercise. Any change will make a difference and it needs to be built up over time. If you make slow and gradual changes a physician is not necessary unless you have some kind of health issue to begin with.

Ghanashyam you do have great information here regarding having a way to keep healthy. The walking, jogging and also using the treadmill methods are what I consider to work for me. I have consulted a physician and to make sure that my lungs are doing fine. So far I haven't had any issues to do my daily routine when I wake up in the morning.

While exercise is s big part of a healthy diet there are still a few other parts to being healthy. Other things that contribute to a healthy lifestyle are thigns like descent sleep and a healthy diet. Sure there are other things you can do to improve your health but then the basics are essentially those.

Hello ghanashyam,
It is very nice that more and more people have now started to pay attention to healthy eating and healthy living. I remember ten years before, I did not care for anything and was not aware of what are the advantages and disadvantages eating different kinds of food etc etc...but today everyone is conscious of his good health. We Indians have to to make a lot of changes in our eating choices. We give more importance to taste and are unaware of how much poison we are filling in our body indirectly. I hope more and more people will read discussion like yours and other health articles. I have been walking regularly and I think everybody can atleast do walking exercise to keep themselves fit. Thanks for spreading awareness.
