I was gonna buy a new digital camera & then my friend bought a new mobile which has a 7megapixel camera built in. Do you think I should buy the camera or just get a new fone & kill 2 birds with 1 stone? Are the camera phones really as good as they say they are? nica x

I guess it depend on your need. You must know that handphone with camera doesn't come with built-in flash. Therefore your picture will not be as clear as using digital camera. Besides, nowadays most digital cameras come with multi functions and you can even edit your picture after taking the pictures. At the present moment, I don't think handphone camera comes with various functions. Again it is very much depend on your need for the camera.

While camera phones can be very convenient, you're still going to get much better quality with a digital camera. So it really depends on your needs. If you just want snapshots of your friends and stuff, you might want to go with a camera phone. But if you're really into photography, a digital camera is going to give you better quality and more creative flexibility.

I think you should go for the phone with built in camera with high resolution. In that way you kill two birds with one stone. Cellphones now are very High Tech and there are lots of features that are already integrated with it. You can play music, watch videos, and browse the internet at the same time.

well.. it is depending on your own usage. I like to use features like the macro, continuous shot, controlling light exposures, scenes selection, etc in which I am sure most, if not all the features are not present in the camera phones. but if your purpose is to just capture moments for convinience sake, then go for it. Speaking of which, most of the point and shoot digital camera now are small and slim.

I don't think the quality of pictures taken by a mobile phone can be as good as that by a camera. The len of a camera is much bigger than mobile phone's. And, the price of a camera and a mobile phone is no more expensive than an advanced mobile phone which can take good pictures.

You must first decide if you need a digital camera. most cell phones have cameras, however there are limitations to consider such as lens quality .

Well, if you prefer convenience, you should really get a nice Camera Phone that has good capabilities in taking images. I guess tha batteries could handle two functions like that. Don't take camera phones with Video Graphic Accelerators or VGA in taking pictures. Consider those with MegaPixels on them. The higher the MP, the better the quality of the image and also higher the space it takes in the memory.

Hi! I am a Sony ericcson k750i user and I had this phone for more than two years now. It has e 2MP camera. It is also a video-recorder. Practically speaking, I suggest its better to have a cellphone with a very good camera in it. SE cellphones uses sony technology so you are sure that the quality of the picture is the same with sony digicam...you can even edit the videos and pics taken onthe phone or in the PC. As far as I know, there are now phones with higher MPs such as the SE phone with 5(?) Mp camera and has the cybershot technology with it.
