We all no that Dale Jr. has left DEI. I wanna know if you all think it was a good idea or a bad one and why. Also, how many fans will he loose through this process. If any of you all are Jr. fans, how do you feel?

I think this is the best thing he could have done. All he had at DEI was tension and stress and bad equipment (9DNF'S in one season from a major team is unacceptable). Now he will have excellent equipment, an owner that will actually listen to him, and a chance to finish and win races. As to losing fans, not gonna happen, the fans will go where Jr goes. That is why it was a major mistake for Theresa to keep the #8, she thinks she is going to keep making the kind of money on it that she made before. She is in for a very rude awakening, the fans will go to the #88 because that is Jr's number. Jr is going to do just fine where he is, he seems happier and alot more focused on winning. Watch out Jimmy and Jeff there is a new boy at the table.

Yeah you make some good points. I never really thought about the whole number situation. I don't, however, think Jeff Gordon or Jimme Johnson have anything to worry about. Dale Jr. is a great driver adn I am sure he will be very succesful in years to come, but right now Gordon and Johnson are dominating.

But now he has the same caliber of equipment that they do so they are all on equal footing. That is what I meant when I wrote that. When you have a team owner who belives in you and backs you, let's face it you drive better. It happened with Jeremy Mayfield and it will happen to Jr. and now instead of it just being Jimmy and Jeff banging their cars together for the lead there will be three cars banging into each other for the lead.

You make a very good point. Hendrick is dominating motorsports and is producing some of the fastest cars. You are right it could be a three car showdown this year. If they all have good "luck" then I think we will see them in the front of the pack. Should be an interesting season.
