Hi,
I'm in your condition. I want to work from home but it's hard. However there are some ways like writing articles, surveys etc.

If you have a talent for writing, I can suggest two sites. Once is Associated Content. They accept submissions and print them on their own websites. They will accept non-exclusive content (that is, you keep the reprint rights) and pay you a bonus based on page views. If you submit for exclusive rights (sell them your copyright) they may make an offer of payment, and you also qualify for performance bonus. If you'd like to join, I'd appreciate it if you would use my referral link: http://www.associatedcontent.com/join.html?refer=44927.
I also recommend Constant Content. On this site, you submit articles and then CC sells them to third parties. You can offer your work for either non-exlusive or full rights, and you get to set your own price, although CC does take a commission. My link there is http://www.constant-content.com/?aref=8083.
I have been writing for both for a year now and can tell you that they do pay as promised!
