When you come home from a stressful day at work or maybe you are stressed out about something else, what specifically do you do to 'wind down'? I love to read a book. It helps me concentrate on something completely unrelated to what I am stressed about and gives me entertainment and usually puts me into a sleep where I am thinking about what is going on in the book and not my troubles in life? What about you?

Ice cream and a sappy movie on Lifetime... that channel wouldn't be on the air if it wasn't for stress relief! Just kidding. Great answer

I play with my dog, She makes me happy and I forget about the bad day I had. Or I'll take a bath. and after that I'll fix something to eat and go to bed.

Dog.. bath.. bed... what could be a better way to wind down the day. I'm in total agreement with you. A dog always seems like he is happy no matter the circumstances.

Well, I take my time, my own time, my own feelings, my own realizations, and with them I make my best frame ever. I thing everyone can frame the good things as the pictures, to hang them on the wall. Let's take the good and let away the bad.

There is never a time when you get anxious or uptight? What do you do when that happens. It is great to try to prevent it... but what do you do when it happens?

I like to sit down and play some poker online while unwinding. Then I will usually get up and make dinner and do all the stuff that needs to be done before heading off to bed.

One of my wife's loves is making dinner. Hun I'm not hungry doesn't mean anything. She'll cook food just to cook. It is her way of winding down.

I just received my copy of 'Neurology Now' magazine and the feature article is about music and how it helps with patients who have brain conditions. In my mind (no pun intended) we all have brain problems at one time or another. Whether it be stressed out, anxiety, etc... some of the most prevelant medicine is for anxiety. Anyways... the article is about music and how it calms the soul and so that is a great way to relax. Thanks for the response. Zelo

I like gardening to sublimize that situation. Plants help me to refresh my mind. Looking at their green leaves, blooming flowers is very exciting. I can even learn something from them, something like wisdoms. From them I've got many inspirations too, to support my spirit. You know, sometimes I post my reflections or contemplations on them on my blog. http://natural-wisdom.blogspot.com Thanks for asking and sharing, Zeloguy! God bless!

Lots of things. I used to be really Type A and driven and thankfully I have developed a whole different approach to life. To relax take deep inhales and slow exhales 5-6 times and meditate, listen to calming music, do yoga and stretching. In the summer gardening is a great way to relax...as is lying in our hammock. Other for a walk or playing computer games, watching television, snuggle with my hubby, or a long hot soak in our bubble jet tub works wonders. Sometimes I dance, sing, call a friend, visit Mylot, draw, do scrap booking, take photos and work on cropping them and improving the quality. That is all I can think of now..but I have a whole arsenal of stress relievers and I use whatever feels right at the time. Raia

I am finally rejoining a gym (Gold's.... for another post) and they have Pilates and Yogo classes... I think I am going to go to a couple to see how they affect me. We have a jet tub in our house and OMG that is the best investment I ever made. Thanks for the response Zelo

When I come home, I would like to take a sponge bath. Then prepare dinner, watch tv, visit mylot and sleep. Sometimes when I'm not sleepy. I read something for few minutes and sleep. The next day, I forgot about yesterday.

How about a cup of decaf tea (green) instead of the coffee? Other than that sounds inviting! Thanks Zelo

Well I usually sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee. Its my way to relax and have a break from all the works that I do. Even before posting with myLot as I arrive from work, I do savor the coffee and let my tiredness go away by just sitting with coffee on my table.

You never, ever can go wrong with music. No matter what mood I'm in, whether it's stressed, tired, angry, I can always find the right music to get me back in my 'zone'. Then there's the usual things like books, watching The Simpsons, but for me, videogames work as well. Basically anything that will distract your mind from the things that stressed you out in the first place will do, I guess. And my definite number one: hang around and swing in the hammock with a drink nearby....

Heh a hammock and a drink... sounds like when I was in the Carribean. There is something about the swinging of a hammock that is so soothing. Of course the drink helps out a lot too! Great response Thanks Zelo

I had a boring meeting every Monday afternoon that would drag on for hours sometimes. If I cycled home across the pretty North Downs this made all the stress fly away. When I have had a day teaching I have to get all my marking, planning and preparation done before relaxing. Then I read a book and that takes me to a different place and time. I also like to use my laptop to go on sites like My Lot. It is is still light I enjoy taking my dogs for a walk along the footpath near my house and across the fields.
