I was wondering about the netflix free trial. Has anyone ever did the netflix free trial and cancelled their account before their trial period was over? I am just wondering because I signed up for the netflix 2 week free trial yesterday and today I decided to cancel my membership. I used a visa gift card to start my two week trial membership. It says that if you cancel before the two weeks you won't be charged. But if you read the terms it says that it might show up on your credit card statement. Well it showed up on my as a pending transaction. I read some horror stories about netflix which i should of read before i did the free trial because now i am about sick to my stomach thinking that i am gonna get charged about $19.00 for a one day free trial service and i didn't even keep my membership long enough to get any dvds. So can anyone let me know there experience with this company? Will I be charged? I did cancel my free trial before the 2 week date actually i cancelled my trial the very next day.

I have, and continue to deal with Netflix. I also did do the free trial that they sent in the mail. I got four movies, watched them and then returned them well before the deadline. I then cancelled my membership. I was not charged anything, and was so happy with my experience that I dis end up subscribing to it a few weeks later. I'm not an expert, but I will say that they are a pretty well established and trustworthy company. I don't think you will be cahrged at all, as long as you din't go over your two weeks.

I did the free trial last year. I did not get charged anything until the free trial was over. I think what the pending charge is, is just Netflix way of making sure that you are using a card with an available balance. If you use a prepaid card and there is no money on the card when they go to charge the monthly fee, they cancel you automatically.
