Rabies scare in Ontario ... Supposedly a pet store owner near Toronto has sold a puppy at a flea market iback in January and that pet didn`t seem well so the new owner took it to Animal Control and thats when it was discovered that the puppy had Rabies ... It has since died but thats not all now their saying that the pet store owner bought these pups from peopple who run a puppy mill , now there are 65-70 puppies out there who have been exposed to it ... They are saying that they have located most of the puppies so far ... There have been almost 50 people who need to get the shot for being exposed to rabies ... Each costing that person 1000 a shot ... Thats scary I`m terrified to let Zues out as he is finally starting to feel better ... So I won`t let him out buy himself , cause he will chase squirls , but they are saying its bats that spread it not squirls ... Still scarey

Even in some states rabies scared people, even here in our place. I do like animals and pets but I dont like taking care of dogs and animals as if member of a family. Dogs are dogs and they should be treated as such. And if you have dogs please have it be vaccinated by anti-rabies and dont kiss a dog or even cats as if kissing a human being.

Yes dogs are dogs but people grow close to their animals and treat them as a part of their family ... Dogs and catys still need attention , but to each their own ....

I don't think the bats spread this, as right now they are in hibernation and dying in our area of NY. It seems to be some fungal thing. If all amimals have their rabies shots, then it should help. I hear these puppy mills are really bad. They should make sure the animals are healthy before they ship them anywhere. I hope your dog stays safe. I feel the same way. I would never let my kitty outside. I worry about the same thing.

I was mainly worried about it cause the girl above me just got a puppy and I didn`t know where it was from and not sure she knew either , and Zues loves chasing squirls which could be a carrier , its weird he won`t chase cats LOL LOL ... But I am not worried about it anmora they say they have found all the pups and were euthanized but now they say after they were tested that none had it ... What a sin after the were killed ... Poor puppies

The thought of rabies is scary. You really have to watch your animals whenever you let them out...because of rabies....whenever my doggie has to use the bathroom I just put a leash on him and take him out and let him use the bathroom and then bring him right back in. You just have to watch your neighborhood, if you see an animals that is acting a bit strange you may want to bring it to someone's attention so that they could take their pets to the bet and get it checked out because the last thing that you want is your pet getting rabies or even worse you getting rabies.
