Hey, I can't believe my baby is almost 1 already. I can remember writing on here in my last weeks of pregnancy preparing for delivery. And for the first few months I was here sharing stories of not only the delivery but how I was doing with a little one in the house again.
So, I come to you my mylot family to get ideas and suggestions for her 1st birthday in May. Because for those who have forgotten or are new, it's important to know that it's been 6 years since I had to do all of this. So, I'm a little rusty on some things, but a lot of stuff is just like riding a bike. So, I'm open to any and all suggestions and ideas. Thanks guys.

My son just turned one this past Friday and we had his party on Sun. We had a whole Mickey Mouse them because that is what his room is done in and he LOVES Mickey. Wal-Mart has some cute 1st birthday decorations, they have one that has mini flags to put on the highchair and a mat for under for messy cake spills and it also came with a hat and a plastic bib, it was so cute! We just had family and my friend who has a 10 month old that I watch during the week, my son's little buddy. We ate, then had him open his gifts and we did the smash cake last so we could throw him right into the bath afterwards. It worked great and everybody had a great time watching him. :)

cool deal..sounds like it was fun. well I dont know what she likes..I didn't decorate her room in any particular theme... I've never been keen on that. Maybe I could do hannah montana, she loves to watch her sisters dance and sing hannah montana... Nah... but i think I did decide on a theme. I think I'm going to go with butterflies, because I call her my lil' butterfly. Thanks for responding.

We just kept ours pretty simple. We picked out a cake at walmart, and it came with a free smash cake. The smash cake is a cute idea, although both my girls wanted nothing to do with sticking their hands in it lol. Our son will be 1 in july, can't wait to see what he'll do to it. So, anyways, then we just had chips and icecream and cake for our guests and that was about it. None of the kids that attended were old enough for games.

Yes, my other 5 loved digging their hands in the cake. I really love that Wal-mart does a smash cake. I just use to buy 2 cakes, and now someone gives you a little cake for free for the big 1st birthday, that is awsome. Well, this will be my 2nd spring party, my oldest is a spring baby also. In fact, I have 3 of the 4 seasons covered, I'm the winter birthday. From April to August I have a birthday every month, then I get a break to do school and halloween shopping and then in November I have a birthday along with thanksgiving preperations.
Well, thank you for your suggestion, I really appreciate it. I'm just trying to get in the swing of things again.
