As most of you know, I am a member of the Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints. Last night I got word that our Prophet Gordon B Hinckley died at the age of 97. I am so saddened. He was a wonderful man. His wife has already died a couple years ago. I just wanted to share this with my friends. I know most of you are not LDS (Mormon) but I am and like I said, I am so sad tonight.

My Sympathies to you. May you find peace in your time of sorrow.
I am a Christian and believe in eternal life. I have too faced the loss of many loved ones, and can take comfort in knowing I will see them again.
So set your thought not on your loss, but his gain. Difficult to do sometimes, but it will help you through.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We were very fortunate to have him for as long as we did. I know he is with his wife now. HE did miss her so much.

For people of faith, it is sad when something happens to their leader. I do not have to share your faith to share in your sorrow, you are my friend. The purpose of having faith is to be able to celebrate the future of the beloved leader in the resurrection. I am sorry for your loss, and may the good Lord bless.

I am so sorry for your loss, I really don't know anything about this man, only Joseph Smith and Brigham Young

It is always sad to see the people leave this world not matter what their age.
I lost a brother at the age of 65
I am not a member of your faith but I did vote in the Primary elections in Michigan for M. Romney..Republican candidate for President of the United States.
Years ago in the sixties his father George Romney was our governor in Michigan and I like to hear him speak and once I heard him in person in front of our capital in Lansing, Michigan..
Thanks for telling us about your feelings.

I am sorry to hear that you have lost someone that you looked up to and respected so much... I know it's hard to lose someone like that in your life.
I lost a Pastor/friend who meant the world to me, he was like a 2nd father to me and when he passed away a few years ago I was completely devastated!
it does sound as though he lived a long and fulfilling life, not many people make it to 97 years old anymore.
I am so sorry for your loss and for your sadness.
