Traditional or Digital, how do you draw now-a-days?

Hello to everyone! With technology getting everywhere with the things we do, its not surprising that it has also dealt with how we do our drawings. We have softwares that enhances our drawings and we even have hardwares for it like Graphic tablets in case you don't consider that reliable mouse. Anyway, I've tried both being traditional, as in hand on with drawing, as well as digital, using a Graphic tablet that enables you to easily draw with out thinking about space or errors since you can easily undo your actions most of the time when you think something wrong is going on with your work. So far, I got back to traditional and a little on digital, well, mostly on coloring purposes. How about you guys? What do you mostly prefer? Give your opinions on why. It could help me and others who might read along this discussion. Thank you!

I think that to be successful at all with digital work, you need to have experience with traditional media. Myself, I love painting, collaging and drawing, and I sometimes get frustrated with digital results. I can't emulate the wonderfully gritty feel I get from traditional paper and paints. The undo option is rather nice, but sometimes I get too used to it and unconsciously start thinking "Oh, I can undo this" when I can't.

I can't disagree with that remark. It is indeed a necessity I guess for one to experience traditional media and then try out digital. Indeed, the actual "hands-on" feeling that digital media could not suffice is really an advantage of the traditional. Yeah, the "undo" for the digital would be the "redo" on the traditional, as in redo everything. Especially when I get into it so much, I seem to focus on being a perfectionist even though I can hardly convince myself that whatever I could come up is even perfect ^_^; Thanks for your response!

I prefer traditional drawing and just enhancing my comics with colors and editing few mistakes. That's of course because I don't have graphic tablet. I wish I would lay my hand on it one day...

Hmmm, in case you do get your hand on some of techie aid like a graphic tablet, mind you, you should get a good one that is comfortable for you as well as a monitor that goes well with it. A big screen with a small graphic tablet doesn't seem right n'or a small monitor with a big graphic tablet really seems out of proportion. Enhancing your comic you say? Your a published artist? Thank you for your response! ^_^

Of course I am much more interested in digital products. The new technology is good and cool. The technology changes our lives and make our lives better.

Well thanks for sharing ^_^ Comfort is another factor to consider when it comes to preferences ^_^ Just curious, have you tried digital before? I get the idea that you found traditional convenient for you since digital wasn't comfortable in some way...?
