We went to see this last weekend, and I walked away unsure of how I felt about the movie.
Have you seen it? What are your thoughts.
I thought it was good and bad. The blair witch like video camera drove me a little crazy in some points, but for the most part it was really cool. Made you feel like you were running with the actors.
Anyways I wanted to know what others thought about this movie. Let me know

I really loved this movie. Going into it, I thought that the way it was filmed might bug me, but it didn't at all. I thought that the way it was filmed, with the hand held camera, made in more real and scary! I mean, you were RIGHT THERE in all the action! And I thought this was a truly scary, giant monster movie! I get it 5 stars and 2 thumbs up! :) Loved It!!

I am still questioning whether or not I like this movie and I saw it on opening night.
It scared me, that I won't lie about--- only because when I left the theater I was right near Times Square and all I kept thinking about was that horribly large monster stopping on the buildings and eating my friends. I just wanted to go back home (I live aobut half an hour outside of the city.)
The monster obviously wasn't believable, but at least it wasn't Godzilla like some of my friends expected to be. Another thought that it was going to be a dragon, good think it wasn't that either.
I like that they left a lot of questions open- this movie (regardless of that fact that it was clearly being left open for a sequel) really got your brain thinking- where did the monster come from? What is it? Why does it do this/that/other thing? There were other questions too, but they have disappeared from my thoughts now..
I agree that the camera drove me a little crazy at moments, moreso in the beginning. I kind of got used to it and began to appreciate how real it seemed. My friend leaned over three minutes or so into the movie and told me that if it cotinued to be that bad he was going to throw up. That was a delightful thought.
I was surprised that the movie was actually funny- the narrator guy, Hud I believe his name was, was great comic relief and much needed also. Had it been so serious and all about this monster attacked the world, then well I don' think I would have been questioning so much.
Finally-- why did he go save that girl!!!!!! That was the most ridiculous thing ever- I would have been out. Left him there, don't care. I'd expect my friends to save themselves rather than maybe being able to save me. That girl was selfish even picking up that phone- she knew that he would go get her. She should've called to say that she loved him and that she was safe and couldn't wait to see him until it was all over- lie, whatever, if you really care. Pathetic. It should not have been turned into the wack love story that they tried to make it- it would've been much better without that!!

I enjoyed it. Was similar to the newest War of the Worlds only with a first person perspective. I did enjoy the way the filming was done, and didn't get any of the effects some have said about from the jitter of the camera. I am anxious for the dvd so I can see behind the scenes and cut scenes and stuff. It was worth seeinng in the theater though for the first viewing.
