Have you travelled to Cebu City in the Philippines? Have you joined the Sinulog festivities? The Sinulog festival is celebrated in honor of Senor Santo Nino.It is usually a week long celebration and culminates on the 3rd Sunday of January, the feast day of Senor Santo Nino. The culmination is highlighted with the street dancing competition and fluvial parade. It is fun, colourful and popular that it draws a lot of tourists, both local and foreign.
Street dancing is participated with different contingents around the country. Each contingent has to choreograph, wear the best attire, dance gracefully in the streets of Cebu City. Each of the contingent has a statue of Santo Nino while dancing on the streets.

I'm thinking of going to Cebu later in the year, probably around June. I'm intending to do a CELTA Teaching English course.. I just wondered if anyone else had done one there and could tell me a little bit about the place.. if I spend 1 month there studying.. surely I will have some spare time.. 1 month is a long time. What would you recommend to do there?

I was there for only 4 days to attend a seminar on Local History... there are lots of things to do there... they have nice malls like the Ayala... beautiful beaches if you love swimming or just lying under the sun... and most especially... the historical places are beautiful... if you have a friend or relative who lives there... just ask them to take you around... after that you can go on your own...
