i dont make a big deal for it because i believe that every people with differences should gain respect to others, especially in the skin color they should be know them first before they judge them..try to be friends with them...

I agree, before you judge someone you should get to know them first, thanks for your opinion friendly17

I think a lot of people are frightened of anything different, I remember in my younger days i dated a fella with a disability I was shocked with the the negativity that was thrown my way, I only know of one person who supported it, I took a lot of flack which even came from people who claimes to be rather religious, went to church every Sunday and yet they couldn't see that this person may have had a physical disability but at least he didn't have a mental one like i think these people had....people like this don't take into consideration of peoples feelings that underneath we are all the same.

I guess I never gave much thought to people making a big deal out of it because I have not been around people who put a whole lot of thought into skin color. I grew up going to school with every ethnicity you can think of. I guess you could say I was color blind. I hung out with people based on their personality, not their skin color. My parents, while they were white, had friends that were interracial couples. I never saw anything wrong with it because it was the norm around me growing up. I know that where you live has alot to do with it. It is unusual where I am now to see that, and some people stare.
I would like to add too that I have friends and relatives that are gay. I am a firm believer that you love who you love and that's that. I'm not going to tell people who to love, and I don't think others should tell me how to live my life. I also think that regardless of who you love, you should be afforded the same privledges as the rest of the country.

Yes, I agree with you, I don't understand why it is a big deal to some, in my family with have a mixture of different back grounds, like I'm mixed, so for me I see nothing wrong with it, but I know a lot of people who do. Thanks for responding lightningd
