with ferguson out now and a new gm (and likely a new coach) next season, what do you think the leafs should focus on.
new goalie?
restock farm system?
tank for a few seasons?

I think that until the ownership stops meddling the whole team is pretty hopeless. They need to get new players on the farm and develop them. Management needs to manage, not meddle. The higher ups who know nothing about hockey need to leave well enough alone. Fans need to realize that the teams is in development and won't be making the playoffs anytime soon.
I feel like the owners really don't care about the team. I mean, fans will show up and buy tickets and buy merchandise no matter what happens. They're the only team I can think of where the seats are all packed every night even when the team is losing. It's a win-win situation for the ownership because they don't have to care whether or not the team is actually a contender and don't have to actually develop the players, and they still make an incredible profit. I see teams like the Blue Jays, who seem to actually be trying, and there's only a few hundred people in the stadium. But Toronto is a hockey town, and fans will keep showing upand every year when they win a few games, fans are certain that this will be the year they win the Cup. I've pretty much given up on the team, and my husband only watches the games on TV to cheer for whoever is playing opposite them.
