Has anybody here attended a 5oth wedding anniversary? or are you celebrating yours or your parents soon?
We made sure we celebrate because 50 years in marriage is quite an achievement right?

I went to my grandmother and grandfather's 50 year wedding anniversary. We held the celebration at their church. That is a really long time. They didn't renew their vows then though, we just had them a party.

50 years ia quite an achievement. I would say that is about the best thing a person can accomplish, a successful 50 years being married. We celebrated my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary 6 years ago, and I'm glad we had that celebration. I don't think my grandpa will live to see the 60th.

hi cefaz! ^__^
wow. 50 years! that's a really great achievement for your parents and of course for you. I have never gone in a 50th wedding anniversary nor have my parents had one since they are separated, but I do think its a special occasion needed to be attended by every family members. that's a great way to hold a family reunion.
best wishes to your parents cefaz and I wish them more long years. ^__^

That is so wonderful please congradulate them for me.
Yes, I have attended a couple 50th wedding anniversaries over the years. Last year at one church service our pastor asked all the couples that had been married over 10 years to stand he then asked only those who had been married over 20 years to remain standing. He did this in increments of 10 years up to 50 - there were still 5 couples standing and we ended up learning that within a month one of those would be celebrating 75 years together - LOL and they could both still stand without help :)

Wow! Congratulations to your parents. It is great to know that at least there are still couples who could last that long in marriage. I haven't really attended a golden wedding anniversary but i guess that must be a memorable event for you and your family. What made them last that long? What are their secrets to staying married?

Yes that is certainly an achievement and congratulation to them
No I have never attended one and I certainly will never celebrate one
I have been divorced for 5 years now
But I always feel happy for People when they do reach it as it means they are very much in love and no matter what nothing was getting them apart

50 years of marriage is an outstanding achievement! It is so infrequent it seems these days! I am so happy for you and your family to be able to see this vow renewal. How special and loving to recommit themselves!

Hello dear cefaz. Happy Gold Wedding Anniversary to your parents. My parents have been married for fifty-four years and they have been very healthy and happy with their life. My mother is the one who always takes good care of my father as I work and live far away from them. Yeah, it is really a great achievement for the couples with fifty-year wedding anniversary. Thanks so much for the blog link, dear friend.

Wow! Congratulations to your parents and of course to your family!
I have attended several Golden Anniversaries. The most memorable one is that of my paternal grandparents. It was really very lovely. All of my relatives based in the US and Australia came home to celebrate this important family event. My parents won't be celebrating their Golden Anniversary until about 20 years from now.

Hello cefaz_21,
My parents had been married for 42 years when my beloved father passed away 9 years ago. They were a loving couple and if only my father still alive now, I think we will definitely celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. It is a memorable occasion that we won't let it passes by. I am married for just 3 years and I hope both my husband and I will be able to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary one day. Oh, even if we can make it to 25th wedding anniversary, it will be a memorable time to remember *smiles*
