How did you first hear about Jamiroquai?

I first heard of them when I moved to Australia from the U.S. back in 2001. I liked their music but was embarassed to tell anyone due to the fact that most of my friends listened to more 'hardcore' stuff and that their favorite name for Jamiroquai was "Jamiro-gay" :(
Besides that, when was the first time you really heard Jamiroquai?

I first heard of jameriquai from a friend i started talking to again, last year. He said it was his favorite band. and since I never heard of them I gave them a listen to. It was different from what I usually listen to, but then again I have a wide range of music I like to listen to. I too was a little embarassed of listening to it around my roomates (they all have a similar tease in music, so im the odd one anyway). But when i first listened to them, they had a diferent feel in their music, which I really liked. And im still listening to them. ^_^

my cousins liked them..I mean I heard they liked them, but I didnt started listening to jamiro since then... I just knew it was a different band and all that...
Then, I was looking for that song, canned heat (htat I thought it was called jst dance), but I didt know what was the name of the song or anything..
I found it and loved it. Then I dont know how I started downliading more and more stuff until I found jamiro was a great band and also I've bought a CD =D
Also a friend of mine likes them too so I can share my little fanatism with her hehe :P
