Have you ever used craigslist to buy or sell anything?

I am wondering if I should place an ad on craigslist. I was just wondering if anyone could share their experiences with me about something you advertised or bought.

My wife sold her car through craigslist. I bought an old Mac computer for $30 through craigslist. The only real problem with craigslist is all the stupid Nigerians. A lot of the items that are supposedly for sale are Nigerian scams. Don't buy anything that isn't being sold to you locally. Also, don't sell anything unless it is local. Nigerians will offer to buy your items at like double the price and send you a bogus check so they can get your property.

Well Nigeria's a 3rd world country, so their government and police force are practically useless. They are lucky if the police can solve crimes like murder and rape. Fraud on other countries is extremely low priority for them. I think alot of the international world lets them get away with this because Nigeria is a major producer of oil. About 9.8% of imported oil in the US comes from Nigeria and as we know, the government will sell its soul for oil.

When I placed an add about my garage sale, some people respond about products I was selling.
I guess it can be good for local market, so people don't have to pay huge shipping fees....

I have never personally used craigslist, but my sister uses it all the time. She has never had a problem with it with the exception of a few people not showing up when they said they were going to. Fortunately she usually gets more than one response, so she can go to the next person in line.
