i'm not in india, but it is still hard to have a lesbian girlfriend here in the US. people are still close minded and have their own opinions and LOVEEEEEEEEE to share them with you. i think you should be with whoever you enjoy.. man woman bi les...whatever makes you happy. good luck!

There is nothing wrong at all about being lesbian. You should not feel ashamed, or let others make you feel that way.

in the US homosexuality is still not widely accepted. I think in India, it would be even harder for homosexuals to come out and be accepted by society. I don't know about traditions there, but my own personal beliefs is that 'you are who you are, and no one can tell you any different'. Screw what others may say about you. If they can't accept you, then fine. If family will not accept you, you don't need them. If they can't love you for who you are then they are the ones who are wrong. Stand strong for your sexuality and don't let anyone tell you different. Its only then will you be satisfied. It may be a long, hard battle, but one day homosexuality will be accepted world wide.

Well,I live in a predominantly Catholic country and for us it is wrong.I admit I had a crush on a girl before and I attempted to court her but we were kids back then so it's all in the past.

hi sathya... there's nothing wrong about it. as long as you are happy and you must by all means stand true to what you believe in. it's just normal that people give negative reactions about you becoming a lesbian because people are used to with the girl-guy thing. but to hell with them. do as you please. don't let other people stop you from being happy.

hello sathya :) there is nothing wrong with being a lesbian.. you can find a lot of support groups in the internet... I also live in a country where a lot of people descriminate/ are homophobic towards lesbians.. but my partner and I have been together for more than five years-- it has not been easy but we have survived....

I'm so sorry you feel compelled to ask if it's wrong and I hope you don't mean myLot when you say "this community not accepting us" because that is wrong, for anyone to not be accepted for who they are. You go girl, be true to yourself and don't worry about those who are too narrow-minded to accept you. I'm a straight married woman, for the record, but I'm still totally in support of you having every right that my husband and I have.

There is nothing to be a lesbian, it is just that people will change their views about you. Instead of having a normal boyfriend, you desire to found a girlfriend. It is very hard for others to accept gays and lesbians in a short period of time. But I admire your courage to declare your lesbian personality.

In Canada you can be legally married to your lesbian partner, and cities like Halifax, have large gay communities, and lots of gay bars and all that stuff. Maybe you should try to move to Canada. If you have a lesbian girlfriend and the two of you are faceing alot of prejuice, to the point of it being dangerous to you, you may be able to come as a political refugee. I don't know how difficult it is to move to a new country, I've never been out of Canada.
