achilles heel tendenitis

my 8yr old granddaughter has severe achilles heel tendentitis and plantars fasciitis (sp?). The first DR. suggested home tretching as therapy;didn't help. She is a big girl 4'10'' and 98# so she is carring a lot of mass. She is very active and needs to remain so for weight control and ADHdwhat should i be looking for in physicians, treatment, therapy, ourcomes. Thanks.
