I wrote a discussion about my husband going to the doctor three months ago and having to be put on medicine for his cholesterol. Well, he went back today to be re-tested so they can see if the medicine is working. He will get his results back in about 2 days. He's been doing good...taking his medicine like he's supposed to and he's also taking fish oil (which the doctor said is good), he's been exercising, eating good and only eating one plate...not going back for seconds. So he called me this morning and said they weighed him at the doctor's office and he had lost 11 pounds. He sounded so happy and I'm happy for him. So my question...does it make you happy when you have lost weight or if someone else is trying to lose some weight are you happy for them when they lose some?

That is great news. Good on him!!! I am always happy when I lose weight or when my hubby does too and I keep encouraging him too. Even if friends are losing, its great to give them encouragement and it also makes me motivated to get out there and do something too.
My husband also has issues with his cholesterol and will be put on medication on Thursday after he has his check up regarding his blood glucose levels and the fact that he has now been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Changing his diet and losing weight is on our action plan too and when we see his Dietician Feb 4th we will be able to take it to another level.
He has already started working out 30 minutes on the bike and lifting light weights so its a start for us. Fingers crossed we keep it going.

It does motivate you when others lose, doesn't it? I think it also helps when someone else is there doing the same thing with you so you don't feel like you're doing it all by yourself. I wonder what kind of medicine they will put him on for cholesterol? My husband takes Zocor.

I am not sure but will know on Thursday. His tests are very high so we have a lot of work ahead of us but I know we can do this!

Well he's 6 foot 3 and he did weigh 240 before he lost these 11 pounds. He says he wants to get as small as he was when he came back from boot camp which was 198 I think but he looked too skinny then because of him being so tall. So I'm not sure exactly how much he's wanting to lose now.

congratulations to your husband sweetgirl. it seems he has the necessary self-discipline to make such an improvement. ^__^
my bestfriend is a little chubby and she always say that she would lose pounds and pounds whatever it takes. she's a cop by the way. she was able to lose a lot of pounds during their training. i was so happy for her. but when she became a fully pledged cop, there were no more forced exercises and trainings and she started eating a lot again. .
