Do you feed your dog "people food?"

My dog will not eat dog food he eats cat food and people food I have tried so many different brands of food for him but he don't llike them

My dog loves eating banana and grapes. I use grapes as a treat. Since they're good for humans, I hope they're good for dogs as well!!

My dog has dibs on anything that falls on the floor when we are cooking/eating, but other than that, he only gets a lick of the cereal or ice cream bowl when we are finished with them (and he has to share with the cat, too). But, he'll gladly check out anything that hits the floor, though he is not fond of most fruits.

Yes, I feed my dog table food. He is a glutton and will eat anything from bananas to lettuce to cheese to meat. Anything you give him, he will eat. I don't think he has a favourite, everything is his favourite. He is good about it though, he won't beg while we are eating. He just waits his turn and knows he gets some after we are finished. We don't feed him while we are eating. He gets the leftovers from our plates, which is never a lot, but just so he gets a taste. He also eats his dog food. My vet says it's not good to feed him people food, though. She says it could really upset his stomach and though we don't see anything disturbing him now, she says he will suffer from it when he is older. He will have stomach problems, is what she says.

We give our Chihuahua people food all the time. He LOVES ice cream. In fact he hates eating dog food but will at the end of the day when he figures we arent going to give him anymore people food.

My dog likes to eat any leftover i gave him..in fact, he prefer a leftover over dog food..

Actually no we don't...on VERY VERY rare occasion they'll get some meat but never in the house, never while we are eating and never from our plates...but I usually like to avoid giving them human food simply because #1 its really NOT good for them and #2 i will NOT tolerate animals begging for food or getting in the habit of taking off the counter or table etc...

well i dont have a dog but i have a cat and I do give him people food. He is like a dog and sits at my feet everytime i eat and is in the kitchen every time i go in there. I guess its a good thing its not a dog begging for food though. Its disgusting when they sit there and stare at you when you are eating and then a slime of drool starts to hang from their mouth. eww. When i get a dog I am gonna try not to give him people food cuz I dont want him begging and seeing that slime of drool hanging from its mouth. My parents have taught their dog not to look. When he is begging they say "Dont look" and the dog looks away. I want my dog to listen like that.

yeah I do.I ask some fast food chains for leftovers.Well,basically,they like meat.they're carnivores after all.

I did occasionally give my dog people food as treats, pieces of meat, she loved veggies like squash. But dairy products can cause gas & other problems with dogs.

Yes, I give my dog some human food but I try to be careful what I give to her. I heard ice cream is not good for dogs, you will have to check on this. I have never given her ice cream. I also heard raisins and chocolate is dangerous to give to dogs, i mostly give meat. She really love crossaints for some reason. must be the butter.

I don't have dogs but I have a cat and oh yes, I give him human food not only as snack but as a meal. he likes rice, meat, boiled eggs and milk. Sometime he does not like cat food at all. I have to force him or strictly give him cat food without this other foods, when he gets hungry he ends up eating cats food.

yes i do give leftovers to my dog... he like chestnuts and cheese... he can also eat leftover vegetables with meat... sometimes when i buy cookies for snack, i share it with him...

I give my two dogs table treats but restrict them to fruits and vegetables. The vet said they can have all they want to those as long as I don't give them grapes--which is too bad, cos Gus loves grapes! My dogs love any kind of vegetable so that's what they get from the table. They also like pears, peaches, strawberries and oranges. Weird, huh?

when I had dogs they used to get a bit of table scraps but not all the time

Yes,I give my dog people food.She knows the word ice cream, say it and she is ready to get some.I think that is her favorite.She lays at my feet when we eat.I feed her a little bit,but I try to limit her intake of people food.

I don't have a dog anymore but when I did I gave him all human food. At first when I got him (he was about 8 years old) he had been used to being fed half dog food and half human food mixed together. When I got him I fed him the same food the owners before me fed him but he wouldnt eat it plain he wanted food mixed in and then he seemed to get even pickier and stopped eating the food when it was mixed with dog food so we just started giving him all our leftover scraps. When we didnt have any scraps to feed him I would give him eggs and mix it with bread and cook it and throw in some other odds and ends like canned vegetables etc. Probably wasent the most healthy meal for him but he loved it and it was very inexpensive for me on my familys very low income.

I do feed our chis and beagles people dog. I cooked them chicken parts, pork and meat, sometimes with eggs, veggies, and inards. My dogs devour them compare to doggie kibbles. They do get meat bones and meat fats on occassion and sometimes I also mix cheese, yogurt, and even tuna fish on their diet. My dogs just like any food we give them, I'm tired of buying them doggie treats that they often time they would not touch and eat.

I don't have a dog at the moment. I have a cat. He loves people food. We can't leave anything out. Even If I have a talk glass thats half full he sticks his head all the way into the glass to drink the water. I don't feed him people food on purpose. Most of it isn't even good for us little lone pets. I also don't want my cat to get fat. He'll eat anything though.
