I have a few seeing that I write for a living and have written a novel that is on its third rewrite. Work hard on it and know you will get better. Let it flow, if it is not working put the work down it will come naturally. Aingealicia

Every writer is different. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to do it. My best advice to you is READ. I have a growing collection of different writing books. They range from Writer's Mart 2008 to The Complete Idiots Guide to Getting Published. Although you may not think you need to read these types of books, I can promise you that they help. Read what you like to write. If it is romance, read romance novels; if it's horror, read horror novels. And I don't mean just a little, I mean read A LOT! Another thing, never be afraid to edit and revise. Yet, set aside time (I go for an hour at a time) that you are going to just "write". Don't worry about editing at that time, just write. When you force yourself to do this, and don't repeatedly stop to correct things, you actually give yourself a chance to get the story out and onto the paper. Concentrate on getting your first draft done, then go back and make changes. Next, try joining a writing community. I am a strong member of Writing.com, and love it. I have used it many times to "get that description right" or figure out why something doesn't sound right. There are a lot of great people on Writing.com, writers, who love to help see someone succeed. Make connections. Always reach out to other writers. Don't be afraid to brainstorm! I hope these few tips have helped, and I really hope that you use them!

well i already read a lot of romance books have been for years and thats what actually got me to where i want to write. My biggest concerns are putting not enough detail, putting too much detail, or making it seem like someone elses (the last on i kinda got over b/c noones going to write just like me) i have glanced at writing.com and it seemed like a cool site. maybe i should use it;.

Well have written two novels but never got either published because I didn't think they were good enough. However the one thing I learned is that if you are going to write a novel you have to try and write each day. Make an outline and list your characters and whether they are good guys or bad guys, describe them and what they are going to do in your novel. Write as often as possible and when you are done proof read it and have someone else read it. Correct any mistakes then research publishers. Buy or go to the library and check out the book Writers Market 2008 by Writers Digest which list all kinds of publishers and writers markets. Do alot of researching and submit queries to as many publishers as possible and try to find an agent as well.

Well, first do you know what company you are going to be working with, do you have the cash for it, writing books are expensive, unless you are going to be self publishing, good luck
