Do You Enjoy Viewing DVD Movies?

My husband and I have been watching a movie each week. Instead of renting one, we purchased several just before Christmas at Circuit City for $2.99 each. They were good movies. We are very strict in our home, we do not view anything with a rating above PG 13. I am constantly amazed at what they show on just PG 13 movies these days. I am wondering if it is time to quit viewing them as well. Do you watch movies? Do you think that the movies are showing more nudity, violence and language than they did just a few years ago?

we have a collection of dvd's here at our house. my father bought them. i usually watch 1-3 movies a day.. i enjoy movie marathon at night. and sometimes i rent vcd's and dvd's at video city. i love watching!

I have 1,150 movies on DVD and over 100 on laser discs. That should answer that part of the question.
Do they show more than in the past? Yes, and I think that is great. Some of my favorites are 'I like to play games' with Lisa Boyle, and 'Hotblooded' with Kari Wuhrer (Salin)
You can always stay away from movies you feel uncomfortable with, that should not be a crimp on everyone else's tastes.
Just like food.... ;-)

I prefer watching movies over anything else on tv, but I don't have money at this time to rent movies so we just watch what comes on tv.

OH, I am going to sound like such a dork - what do I watch in DVd - Harry Potter, Sleepless in Seattle, You've got Mail, American President, White Christmas, A wonderful life -- I think these are my favorite movies...
I really just tend to enjoy the simpler things. I don't worry about the ratings because I know pretty much if I like it it is nearly always rated G

Hello dear village anne. I used to watch a lot of DVD movies before I got my laptop years ago. Since I had this laptop, I have not seen DVD movies very often. But I still keep those DVDs in my drawer. Most of the time I watch online and it is true that there are many adult scenes in the movies. Thanks.

I certainly do think the movies are 'accepting' more and more things that I don't think are acceptable or appropriate - I seldome purchase movies anymore because of that and over the last 2 years the only ones I've purchased were through the Dove Coorperation - they produce only 'family friendly' totally acceptable movies.
