n 1991, it became a subsidiary of Volkswagen, hope that helps.
Im curious though, what is your interest in this car. It's not really that attractive or even powerful.

Thank you. I don't actually like Skodas, I prefer Porsche 911s and Porsche Boxsters. This is just to settle a dispute between a couple of members of my family that I kind of started and would like to finish accurately. Thank you again. ;)

Here's a little more complete list for you, dory:
Corporate structure
Schematic of Volkswagen's extended financial relationships.
Main article: Volkswagen Group
Volkswagen is part of the Volkswagen group, along with:
* Audi — 98.99% ownership; Audi is the one remaining brand from the former Auto Union group, bought from Daimler-Benz December 30th 1964. NSU was bought in 1969 by Volkswagen and merged into Audi AG; the NSU brand has not been used since 1977.
* SEAT — 100% ownership since 1990.
* Škoda — 100% ownership since 1999.
* Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles — 100% ownership; started operations as an independent entity in 1995. VWCV is in charge of all commercial vehicle developments within the group.
* Bentley — 100% ownership by Audi AG; company was bought on July 28th 1998 from Vickers along with Rolls-Royce, which brand was subseqently ceded to BMW.
* Bugatti — 100% ownership by Audi AG; brand was bought in July 1998 as a part of the Bentley deal.
* Lamborghini — 100% ownership by Audi AG; company was bought in June 1998.
* Scania — 68.6% ownership since March 2008.
Note: From July 1998 until December 2002, Volkswagen's Bentley division also sold cars under the Rolls-Royce name under an agreement with BMW, which had bought the rights to that name but not the operations. From 2003, only BMW has been able to make cars under the Rolls-Royce brand.
And Porsche is trying to buy the remaining shares of VW to keep competitors from getting any shares. They want to keep the siblingship together.
