Erickson's Psychological Theory of Development states that the individual will begin to develop a sense of intimacy, begin to form relationships by becoming parents and marriage partners. by early adulthood an individual has a very real expectation and appreciation of who they are and has established an identity. occupation choice is traditionally made during early adulthood. the young adult feels a sense of commitment in his/her relationships with others. the young adult treasures and enjoys affiliations and partnerships. erickson's theory of psychosocial development believes the individual with poor interpersonal and communication skills will have difficulty during the period of young adulthood.
