Do you ever wonder what it would be like to live back in the times before technology and toothbrushes. When everyone had to fend for themselves and live off of this world. before internet, showers, guns. Where do yo wish you could live if you lived back then, Rome, England, Jerluselm, justa wonderer wondering everywhere, with the Indians. Would you want to be a great Knight fighting for his kingdom. Or would you want to be a viking or gladiator. What religion would you of followed, the celtic veiws, pagan veiws, or the relativly new christian veiws. I would want to live somewhere nice, maybe be a wonderer and wonder all through the world listening to the teachers like arestotale, maybe merlin, I would love to learn how it fells to only have to live of the earth. We today dotn respect it enough to relize how much it has done for us and still is doing for us. But that would teach us all more respect if we had to live off of it. what would you want if you lived in the past

Interesting that you brought this up. I was thinking about this last night as I was watching 3:10 to Yuma. If anyone isn't familiar with this title, 3:10 to Yuma is a new movie based off an old western. They were still fighting in the North and South. There were good cowboys, indians, and bandits. If you had a problem you just shot someone. I don't condone shooting, but it seems that when the government was less involved, the world worked better. Criminals were simply shot or hanged after a trial, if they had done something really bad, not kept in jail or prison for years at the taxpayers expense. You ate off of your own land, no grocery stores, although there were small markets.
I would have been fun to live at this time. Although as a woman, you didn't get to experience much, it would have been nice to just ride off into the sunset on my horse.

Right, yes im glad we are advancing as human beings but are we advanceing in all the right ways. Like you said why dont we just kill murders, rapist, and child melistors anymore. They can just get out and redo it over and over and over. then we pay moeny to put them back in a prison and let them live on with there lives instead of perish. i too believe the government needs to let us live our own lives as we please as long as we hurt none, thats what this country was built for freedom, people say we are still free but i dotn think we are so much as we should be. yes it would of been nice just to ride off and see plains all around you instead of buildings.

I think I'll choose the "peace times" here in my region, where people live by means of bartering.
They exchange some of their local products and crafts for other foreign trade, I think that's one simple means of dealing with something to make out for a living. My country, which happens to be the Philippines, used to be rich with natural resources but all of it have gone down mainly because of rapid industrialization.
I wished that people were aware of how to give back which what they took from nature, that way we don't have to enjoy looking at rare and extinct species through pictures at all.

I know what you mean, back in the day some culters did give back what they took. Now its like no culter gives back what they take. And we take more than what we need when in the old days we took only what we needed and left the rest to regroup or populate whichever. we are stingy people these days and we will most likley be the cause of our own distruction.

What an interesting discussion. I have never really thought about it. I think I would like to live in the caveman times. Life would have been much simpler without religion to cloud peoples vision. Just the land and survival of the fittest.
