How to make money on Mylot, I think I have the answer!!!

Ok, I have been on mylot for a little over a month now, and I think I have finally figured it out. After tracking the number of posts I have been doing, and how many discussions I rated, I fiugred out something that might be of use to my fellow mylotters!!! While you do make money for posting, it's QUALITY NOT QUANTITY. Sure, your count goes up for multiple posts. But, I spent the majority of my day, reading through the posts in my interests. I took the time to rate them on their value to the discussion, or if it was a good topic for starting a discussion. I rated other people's responses to them. While I don't know how many people rated my postings, I know that yesterday, I only did 18 posts, and started no discussions, but I rated a bunch of topics. If I didn't have anything of value to add to the discussion, I moved on to a different one. And something amazing happened. I had one of my top earning days!!!! I think we all need to spend a little more time thinking about our posts. Help our fellow mylotters by clicking on the positive or negative sign on the right hand side. If we all start doing that, and posting quality stuff, it will improve mylot all the way around. Let me know how many of you take the time to rate discussions and replies. Let me know how many of you only post if you have something relavant to add. Or do you post just to be posting???? Let me hear it folks!!!

I do rate most of the posts that I respond to and it's usually in a positive manner. If I don't have any thing to add to the discussion I rate and move on. I have also rated some of the users responses depending on the content. I believe in helping others and all that so I try not to respond to a post unless I do have something different to say than what others have said.

That's exactly what I am talking about. You'll earn far more by contributing usefull information, and if you don't care one way or another, then you move on. You'll be earning well in no time!!!

i'm confused, by rating do you mean you went an voted on people's topics of you contributed significant content so that people voted for you? i try not to post to discussions that dont hold my interest, i dont want to be one of those lame posters that says 'yea' and moves on.. i like to actually have conversations on here.. but thats just me.. i find that if i start 5 discussions and respond to 5 discussions in detail then it grows my earnings nicely.

Actually, to get the real answer. You just have to visit this link, since mylot provided for us their very own explanation about posting and earning here. Though this has been posted many times already, I give you credit for sharing what you have made here for newbies but there's more than that of you know or found out. The ratings and earnings varies in no time of day, they are always subject to change. I believe most of what you've has been done or was being done here by members, the rest are up to the admin's decision to pay us more or not.

Most of these posts are just a part of their strategies, for sure they are members from other sites so they know how such forums as these works. And before joining, they are allowed to take free tours of what a site is all about. If they'll just take a look on the lower part of every mylot page, there they'll see some links there about the Guidelines, FAQ's and TO's of this site.

Well, the problem is, not many people have actually bothered to read through it, or if they have they may not understand it. I am simply passing on what I have learned to other users since I see new discussions nearly every day saying "How do I make more money?" and "I'm only making this much but I had this many posts". I think alot of people were under the impression that if they just posted continuously they would make more money and that's not the case. Thanks for the comment!!

Well, sometimes people don't get all the way to the bottom of the page. I hadn't really noticed it until someone pointed out in another post about the rankings in each interest and how the leaders were posted at the bottom of the page.

I always try to rate relevant responses from my posts and relevant responses started by other members after reading the FAQ's in mylot. And true you are of what you say that it will increase your earnings at lot, especially if you also put picture on your discussion. Me, I have only posted i think 12 posts yesterday but my earnings increased to 16 cents. I do post if I can add something relevant, but I would admit there are really times I replied just for the sake of increasing my number of posts. That was before I know it wll not count anymore. I also notice, that talking all about paying sites here, will not help you earn money. Giving links.

We are not supposed to post referral links even if someone asks for it. When that happens, PM them is they're a friend or add them as a friend if they're not so you can send them a PM. That's an easy way to get a post deleted, then everyone who responded loses their points and earnings from that discussion. Annie

I am new to mylot.com actually I have only been here for about three days and didn't know that you could actually rate things on here. I will start rating though now that I do know. I do only post whenever I have something relavant to add because if you don't you are basically just wasting your time and mylot's money...I have turned down alot of discussions because I knew nothing about hte subject or I didn't have anything good to add to it...Whenever I post a question it's a question that I think others might want to know the same answer to as well....I am ahaving a little success on mylot I hope to continue with it

I was posting away on stuff I thought I had relevant information on , and I hit a rut where the topics just didn't interest me, so I started looking around the site since I wasn't interested in adding to any discussions because I wasn't interested in them or were out of my knowledge base. So I started going back through the stuff I had posted info to and started rating them. Thanks for the post, and good luck!!

I didn't even know that that positive or negative sign thing existed! Well done on the discovery! Someone also mentioned to me that you generally need to have around 3 or more lines of posts, one liners don't get any earnings. Does anyone else know any secrets!? Does it help to send someone christmas cards!

I wasn't aware of them either on the ratings. When I saw it and did a little more looking around at the FAQ's I learned something. Just trying to pass on the information to all who are interested!! Thanks for the post~~

Yes, thank-you so much for confirming this information for me. I often rate discussions and wasn't sure if it was making any difference or not. That is so great to know and I also have noticed that my posting numbers go up more rapidly by responding to discussions in most cases than by starting a new topic everytime. Really good to know!

Just trying pass on what I have learned!! I get irritated by the one liner topics and stuff. People just posting a quote or something, not contributing to usefull stuff. It gets old. Good luck on your mylotting. Thanks for the post!!

So far, I've only posted replies to the comments on either my discussions or of others that goes along my interest. The positive and negative rating is still a bit new to me and I thought that the only one who could rate replies where those who made or started the discussion. Now that you've clarified it, I might as well go back to my previous discussions as well as visit those other discussions that I participated in and rate the replies that seems to be a nice one among the the replies given at the dicussion ^_^ Thanks!

In slow days the best to do is try to find interest with few images and upload some of your own. Rating other people discussion is good to show you are taking part in mylot, that should somehow reflect in your activity and then earnings.

I am still new here and didn't relize that you could rate all these posts and comments also. Can you only do it on the discussions that you start ? or can you rate the comments of any of the discussions going on ?
• United States
30 Jan 08
Actually you can do it on any post that is not your own. I think it is a good idea really. For keeping people on subject and stuff and it might keep people from typing random stuff that doesn't pertain to the original discussion. But yea, you can rate any discussion/post from anyone but yourself.

I am new to this and don't know how to rate discussions or replies. I do however only post if I have something relevant to say. I will not post just to post. I like to know what I am discussing so if the discussion is something I know nothing about then I move on.

You will notice on the right hand of the screen next to each post you will see three boxes, "+" "-" and "!". Those are what you use to rate. However, if you don't have an opinion one way or another, don't rate it.

i'm a newcomer at this site and still have to learn a lot of thing on this site. i have trying to increase my knowledge about this site and how it's pay people that join this program, i think this thing can be like this, people who join this program early then the other people will much focus on what their posting about. because people learn something by doing something right!! so i believe that there a people when hear about this program then they join it, the first thing in our head will telling us how this program works and how to get money fast, the easy way to do is ready some discussion and try to reply it as ASAP in the easily way considering not to wasting time. So here we can see at this site there a lot kind of people looking for anything, maybe there like to share their personal life story or just come to this site for fun posting thing without any reason. Just like you, your intersting is about making money so what you need is "the way to make money from this site" simple isn't. For me keep in touch on this site will increase my knowledge and money to isn't hehe.. so posting for what? depand to you, your the person know that..yup..

Hmmm. I guess I never really even considered how rating responses and discussions might play into the earnings thing. I've been away for so long, I'm really rusty as it is. I have been focusing so far on doing quality responses to discussions. I'd love to eventually get to a point where I feel comfortable enough to start some discussions of my own. But I'm sort of concerned that most of the things I'd want to post have already been hashed and re-hashed a bazillion times and people would do one of two things. They'd either not bother to respond, or I'd get criticized for starting something that's old news. (Not that I think most people here are out to be mean like that. That's just me being paranoid. lol)

I only respond to discussions that i can relate to. I skip over the ones that I do not have valuable input for. I rate all of the discussions that I respond to and I rate all members who respond to mine also. I have noticed that I earn more from the quantity of posts though rather than the quality. I may be wrong but that is how I see my earnings grow. It may be different for other folks here.

I don't think you get paid for rating others but you're right about quality over quantity. I get so irritated at some responses, for example if someone asks what's your favorite song by a certain artist and someone posts "I never heard of that singer so I don't have a favorite." Or if it's on a topic and someone just pops in to say they're not interested in that topic. And, about the negative ratings - I say, use them very sparingly, only in cases of abusive or offensive responses. I rate nearly everyone positive , even if I disagree with what they post. Annie

Not only is the quality of your posts a must for making more money, but the more referrals you have & keeping them inspired to post helps a lot too! I should really get into the rating members more as I dont do it nearly as much as I should.. mainly because it's kind of slow on dialup as it is.. otherwise I would probably use the full extent of the features!

Yes, once you reach payout, they will transfer it to your paypal account. I believe they do it on the 15th and 1st of each month.
