What do you think of the Bible?
Do you think it is a collection of made up stories? Do you think it is the inspired Word of God?
Do you think is some teachings that are wortwhile, like the "golden rule" and other teachings that aren't important?
Do you think it is an important book to read and/or study?
When I started high school I thought science had all the answers and had no interest in the Bible. When I conluded that science did not have all the answers I started reading philosophy books. Then I started reading about religions. Then I tried reading the Bible just to see what it had to ssy. I've been reading it ever since.
I still very much like science, but I'm glad I discovered how important the Bible is.

i think the bible has good history value and good morals but thats about it. its good to study and to know but thats it. its not used for religious purposes for me b/c i know that it was written by differant man with differant ideas and storys and that there a many differant books written by differnt man in that time period that wasnt added but has just as much history and moral values. I beleive that its not the word of god, but the word of the heart of the man that wrote it. thats what god gave us to follow our hearts and minds not some book written by differnt man. Most christians today seem to put the bible as an idol. and thats not what it should be.

I love the bible and how we can learn about God"s love for us from it. You can find a lot of science in it too. You just have to learn how to find it. Some scholars believe that the wheel with in a wheel talked about in Ezekiel is either the solar system or cells.

Thank you for that link to the site that includes information about how science does not conflict with the Bible. I have added it to my favorites list so I can go back and visit it.
I like the statement on that site about how actually reading the Bible would help people realize what is in it. A lot of people have made up their minds about the Bible without ever having spent much or even any time reading it.
Thanks so much for your comments.

I believe it is the inspired word of God,if not then it's teachings would crumble into pieces.History has proven that what is written in the bible during the reign of Rome is true. The story of Israel before and after it happened came through. The bible clearly stated that the world is round long before science has proven that the world is round. The circumcission of a baby boy is proven to be hygienic and clean. There are many proofs, but sad to say there are many who are crooked and are inserting words to confuse.

I take Bible as a book of story with profound theological meaning weaving history into it. God is the author and He himself is the main character. And we all are the characters in the play.

the bible is the truth as inspired by God for the purpose of teaching you what God wants for his people and the stories are eye witness accounts by the prophets.

The bible is the only book and source that verify the origin of man, and the all creation as a whole. I believe the bible was written by men inspired of the Holy Ghost and it is the best book in the whole wide world.

The Bible is the most read book on the face of the earth. I think it is kind of important. The Torah is the history of a people growing up in the presence of G'd. It took the Hebrews many years to finally completely embrace the concept of Monotheism, but when they got it they got it and have held to it ever since. That is the story of the Bible. It tells the naked truth of the falls and struggles of a people struggling with this awesome new concept. They hid nothing. All the world can read and learn from their struggles.
