Failure/Fear

Have you ever felt this way or had something happen? Been embarassed? Had advice given on how to help calm your nerves or anything else? I've already failed at a lot of things in my life even though I'm young. I've made more mistakes than some people do in their life. This has taken away most of my self-confidence. Then, being overweight and not liking it, yet somehow not doing anything about it has taken the rest of my self-confidence away. After my last mistakes, I've pretty much taken myself away from anything that could get me in trouble. I've just involved myself in the whole church aspect, going to church and youth group on Sunday, and to another youth group on Wednesdays. On Feb 17th, it's 'Youth Day' where the youth do everything...greeting, offering, and the sermon. We're also doing 2 human videos. I know the one were doing very well because we've been practicing and I don't have a big role. I'm very afraid I'll look stupid though or embarass myself. I just got the song we're doing for the other human video from CJ, technically one of the youth leaders. I don't know what the moves are going to be or anything, but he wants me to do the lead in it. I don't want all that attention...it scares the crap out of me. I also don't really know if I sing good or not. At least on the first human video no one will be able to hear me...but this one? Thanks=]

We have all made mistakes in our lives, and I will let you in on a big secret----------We learn a lot more from our mistakes than we do from our successes. Mistakes get our attention more, we study our mistakes and make plans to not repeat them. Embarrassment is basically a fear of what others will think of us. The only thing I have really learned about that is we all are embarrassed at times, and it's not fatal. I also know with age I have gotten so I care less and less what others think.

First of all, you have to forget about being embarassed. After winning our manager of the year award I drove over a parking block right in front of our CEO, president and lots of others. I was so embarassed. The next day all anyone mentioned was the fact that I won the award. As far as failure, compare yourself to some of the greatest baseball players of all time. Their batting average was only around 300, that means they fail to get a hit 7 out of 10 times at bat. So for the most part, people fail more than they succeed so you have to try to do as much as you can and don't count the failures.
