phatan bowler or batsman

Hello,guna! Irfan Pathan is undoubtedly a good pace bowler who opens the bowling attack for India.also at times he bats wellat no.6/7.it is a wrong decision to ask him to open the innings.earlier also such experiment has failed.so no further experiment should be made as it effects his career,it is my personal view.thank you.

i also agree with you that pathan is good as a opening bowler as he do get some early movement on the ball and cause serious problems to the batsmens and he is good to bat in no.7 as he can bat a bit.But he can not afford to see off the new ball and gets out so his services should be done in the number 7 not wasted in opening with him in batting. It is good till experimentation but permanently it should not be done as till now i have seen only one player had done this in regular basis and did very well with both and that was neil johnson of Zimbabwe.

phatan is neither good batsman nor bowler,i wud rather call him handy player who can do a bit with both bat and ball
