Usually vasectomy is considered the best choice if a couple decides not to have more babies and the man wants to take the responsibility. But Recently I saw a program on life networks (slice) and a doctor told that he conceived his youngest baby after 6 months of his vasectomy. This sure does raise the question that how reliable is vasectomy actually? I think in today's world a lot of men and also couples would be banking their reproductive destiny on vasectomy so what do you think about it. Do share your opinion as well as any personal experiences.

yeah up till now I've never heard of such an incidence either and that's why i was surprised. I guess there's no fool proof method for birth control. One needs to lucky :)

I have a friend who had her tubes tied fourteen years ago, and she recently found herself pregnant. She took nine pregnancy tests because she just couldn't believe it.
However the pregnancy was in the tubes and she soon miscarried.
This freaked me out since I have my tubes tied.

Oh your friend had a very dangerous kind of pregnancy called "ectopic pregnancy" in medical terms. It's 1 in 50 and can be fatal and mostly miscarriage happens. But I guess we can't predict future so you don't need to be worried. Hopefully such an incidence will be extremely rare and won't happen again. Although I'm still astonished that how did the fertilization happened as the egg never got out of the tubes. One explanation could be that the sperm somehow entered inside the tubes.
