Back many years ago, I would get good disounts at the markets. But these days I get the best deals either through the auctions or through wholesalers online.
Where is the best deals you find items you want to buy?

There is a great site I use, that gets me jewelry, paintings, and lots more stuff really really cheap. It's an auctioning site (not ebay). All auctions start at 1 dollar, and then it can go anywhere! It also gives the actual sales price of some items....
I've gotten great, beautiful necklaces for...30 dollars and their actual worth price is hundreds!

I do find a lot of good prices online, but I don't get any discounts really. I don't shop online a whole lot though and do get really good deals elsewhere as well.

it think generally speaking the best buys are online because online suppliers do not have the overhead that brick and mortar stores do,
but then the sales sometimes in a regular are really good as well.

Both places actually. It all depends what you are looking for and how bad you wanted it. I try never to pay full retail prices for clothes, etc. Food is the only thing that if we really need it and it is not on sale I will pay full price for.
You have to watch thou if you are shopping online that your shipping costs don't eat into your savings.

I did not shop online often, I like to go to the stores and try to find the best deal for the stuffs that I need. Because in the stores I can really see what kind of stuff that I will get and make sure that I really get good deal for good stuffs.

Um it depends I guess...
Sometimes after shipping things are still the same price as in stores, even if it's a lower sales price. I try to avoid paying California tax by buying from vendors from other states.
But other than that...
Fruits, vegetables, perishable groceries - Asian supermarkets. They are the cheapest, sometimes quality's not that great, but when that happens, I go to safeway.
All other groceries- Safeway. It's not true that Costco's, Sam's club, etc is cheaper because it's "wholesale" - if you buy something that's on sale at Safeway, you might get around the same price, and in smaller, more manageable packages too.
Clothes - I shop at stores for my clothes. I just don't like the idea that the shirt I order might be a little different from the one that I looked at offline, and that it won't fit.
Books - online. Definitely. Amazon.com rocks my socks.
Anything else - offline or online, depends.
