Which do you prefer to use on your baby (ies)bum bum? vaseline or medicated creams e.g. sudocrem, zincofax (with zinc oxide) I prefer the medicated ones. they give more protection than vaseline.

My child doens't usually get diaper rash *knocks on wood* I hope that doesn't change! But when she is a little red, i use the zinc oxide type most of the time, And i have found that the "parents choice" kind from walmart works the best, its got the highest amount of zink oxcide in it so i guess thats why it works fast! Other times i will use palmers bum butter. its like vasiline with a coacoa butter smell ;)

I have never tried the medicated creams... vaseline or petroleum jelly always works with my baby's diaper rashes... and her pediatrician never suggested any medicated creams... When we were young... i remember my mother also used petroleum jelly on us... especially my youngest brother... there is no side effects...
