why is the sit of power in the usa called white house?

is it true that the Americans have a way of keeping things secured or is st just selfishness that made them call their sit of power white house?

I think we are having hard time understanding your question. If you clarify it, you will probably get real answers to your question. But if you are indeed wondering why the white house is called that, well, like the poster before me said, it is white and it is a house...

Do you mean why can't a black person run the U.S.? If so, well right now, we have Barrack Obama running for the democratic spot in the presidential election. So it could very well happen soon.

The United States is great only because the people elect a new president every four years. The "white house" was pained white as the British burned the origan on in the war of 1812. The only land that the Americns took in the wars was the land to bury the Soldiers and Marines who defeated the dictators of the world. The United States real power lies not in Washington DC but in the voters who elected these honorable men in the three branches of government. Executive, Legislative and Judical.. Next time there is a world famine or crises we will see who responds to help the enemy
