Have to say windows system restore is a life saver. This morning my wifes laptop's in-built wireless adapter was dead. She spent a good part of today looking up what may have caused the problem and I then tried a few things too. I then suggested doing a system restore, lo and behold after restoring back to yesterday, up came her PC with the wireless connection back on and working. I suppose a driver or something got damaged at shutdown last night.
This is about the 3rd or 4th time I have used system restore to fix something that I have been unable to solve.
Any other stories?

System restore, if I am correct only restores changes in the OS, so, data files are not replaced/restores.
Also, does anyone know how to initiate system restore? I always end up doing a search using the help option and geet a link from there.

The Windows System Restore is a good feature, but it doesn't always work well...I have tried to restore before when my PC was giving me a lot of problems and restoring it back to an earlier date doesn't help...In the end, I have to backup my data and reinstall the OS...
Somehow it always better not to rely solely on System Restore as there is always a tendency things don't work...
