Diabetes runs in my family. Heavily. I have been feeling funny lately. I am getting headaches everyday just about. Even if they are not really bad, there is a dull ache that won't go away. I get migraines already, but these won't go away with medicine. My stomach feels funny too. I am dieting, as usual. LOL. But I feel funny after meals sometimes. I am considering beginning to eat like I am diabetic just in case. Also to possibly prevent it. I need to lose at least 20 pounds right now too. My body is really weird. I can diet really good for a few days and lose a few pounds and then I give myself a free day or eat one bad meal and I gain it all back. I was just wondering if in anyone's experience these are signs of diabetes.

Staying thirsty all of the time and not being able to get enough to drink and you also feel drowsy and urine would be bright orange in color.

I am type 2 insulin dependant, I do not have the thirst or the frequent urination that accompanies diabetes, nor have I ever had orange urine...LOL, sounds like that may come from taking witamins. Anyhow, if you think you may be diabetic go to your doctor for blood work. Too many people have the diease and don't know it. Before I was put on the insulin shots, I used oral medication. About 6 wks ago I began feeling tired, achy and knew something was wrong. I wanted to sleep all the time. Now with the correct medication I am sooo much better, productive and happy

If you are really concerned, I would strongly recommend seeing a doctor. I understand it's annoying and costs money, but I do think it's worth the hassle especially since your family has a history of it. Anyways good luck and I hope you're not actually diagnosed with it.

Especially since I hate needles. I used to watch my grandpa give himself shots, but now I can't even watch them give the dog a shot.

Yeah, one of my friends has to draw blood every 3 hours. That must stink to have to do that all the time.

As I looked for the common signs and symptoms of diabetes in the internet and there are lots of them and you can't even tell if it's really diabetes that is causing it and different persons have different signs and symptoms. Diabetes also runs in our family, thank God I don't have diabetes for now. My mother's symptoms when she first acquired diabetes was she is always craving for sweets and she gained a lot of weight. To some people they lose weight as a sign of diabetes. I also sometimes feel funny like i'm getting constipated, frequently urinating and some muscle pains but i found out that the only cure for all of these bad feelings is exercise and a healthy diet, for some reason i felt cured already try it for a week just include a healthy diet also and if you are still feeling funny then I would suggest to consult a doctor for your peace of mind.

I try to do the good diet thing. Fitting exercise in is a problem. I am trying to do better though.

I am a type 2 diabetic and believe it or not sometimes there are no symptoms. I for one noticed that I was craving sweets more often than usual. Then when I was in a car accident I found out that I was a diabetic when I had my blood checked in the ER. That was over seven years ago. My doctor said it was "the silent killer". I did a lot of research and quizzed the doctors about this disease then made a blog about it last year. If you want some facts and the most common symptoms about this disease you can read my lens at Squidoo. It also has some myths that people still think are true but from my research they are just old wives tales. http://www.squidoo.com/sixapart/Diabetes I also have one that has some recipes for diabetics or for people who just want to lose some weight. You will find a link to it on this lens.

Migraines can come from many sources, to incluide a toxic liver/bad digestion..or even a brain cyst, etc..Possibly even High Blood pressure or..just stress. Diabetes ... a person tends to be thirsty alot, pee more, etc..lathargic/tired In the ned..you should NOT be asking here. You should be seeing a doctor that can diagnose you properly. Get there.

I advise you to read my article "The Layman's Guide to Diabetes" at http://homeremedies-ak.blogspot.com to know about diabetes in very simple language. Regarding the symptoms you mentioned, I do not think you can link them to diabetes but since it is running in your family, you are predisposed to it. Migrain once started does not get cured by allopathy medicines. Yes, you can prevent it by taking half a tab everyday if it is very frequent. More weight means more health problems. Remember, 1 kg weight adds another 1000 kms of blood vessels in your body and your heart has to do that much extra work. Since you have a good will power, you can reduce your weight and prevent regaining it.
