I just read it in yahoo news... The worst building in the history of mankind..here's the excerpt...read it and comment if its really a worst building in the history. It's the Ryugyong Hotel in North Korea, where the world's 22nd largest skyscraper has been vacant for two decades and is likely to stay that way ... forever. The one-hundred-and-five-story Ryugyong Hotel is hideous, dominating the Pyongyang skyline like some twisted North Korean version of Cinderella's castle. Not that you would be able to tell from the official government photos of the North Korean capital -- the hotel is such an eyesore, the Communist regime routinely covers it up, airbrushing it to make it look like it's open -- or Photoshopping or cropping it out of pictures completely. source: http://www.esquire.com/the-side/DESIGN/worst-hotel-ever-012808?kw=ist

I also read that story... and the building is really hideous... it made me ask... "What were they thinking"...bad enough coz it can't even be called a white elephant because it was never used for anything at all... This building made me recall a particular hotel in Cebu that was built but is not currently not being used because of structural defect... at least that wasn't a sight for sore eyes... it was quite an interesting and somewhat mysterious building...

Oh my! That is a huge and ugly looking building. I agree that it is hideous and am not surprised that it has stayed vacant for twenty years. I think that the tower blocks look shorter than it. It is like a giant in a children's classroom. The size of it is totally out of proportion with the other buildings around it. I have met people that have been to South Korea and really liked it. I have heard North Korea is closed for tourists. It is interesting to see a photo of it. Thanks.

Yeah the structure looks monstrous and really an eyesore in the area. What's really wrong with it is that it used government funding to build and and the government decided to abandon it.
