I really do not have an idea as to why these "internet marketers" do not prefer hotmail. MAybe it is because yahoomail and gmail is more popular than hotmail??(I really don't know) I have a hotmail account but I rarely open it. So rare that I have to activate my account numerous times and get my mails deleted always.

The reason is because a hotmail address is likely to be a secondary or "dump" mail account. Addresses of this nature (hotmail, yahoo, gmail etc..)usually result in less turnover or profit to the marketer. If a potential client or participant uses an email address from their internet provider or their own domain there is a much higher chance that account will be their main account. Which means they are a-lot more likely to see and pay attention to any relevant emails and in turn generate more profit for the marketer.

Actually I think Microsoft usually provides good service. I like Hotmail and I have used it since 1997. Most of the time it won't have big problems. Hotmail is still my main email account.

Maybe its because other mails are becoming more popular, like gmail and yahoo and...iono what else. I still use hotmail if thats a consolation :P i've been using it as my main email since 2001, which is both a good and bad thing seeing as how I thought the name "linkmasta" was clever back when i was twelve years old :P

I just wanna say that your title suggests that the name comes from being HOT but it actually comes from HTML. THat's how hotmail was formed. Hotmail is getting boring and other e-mails like Gmail are new and fresh. People want change.
