Divorced or Engagement Gone Wrong...Where's the Ring?

I've been married twice, and currently engaged. This topic came to mind today when I ran into an old friend who is still will the guy my 2nd husband and I set her up with 6 years ago. And I believe the idea came to mind as I was showing her my engagement ring. So, my question(s) are: What happened to the ring? How long before you could take it off? And how long before you got use to it not being there. I can recall it feeling like I was naked, or missing a part of clothing. I kept my ring on both times until I met someone else and fell in love. With the two ex-husband's anyway. I was engaged 3 other times that didn't lead to marriage. The one I kept and put in a keepsake box, and eventually gave it to my daughter. Another one, I actually don't know what happened to it. And the third one, the guy gave me the receipt so I could return it if I wanted to, and said I could keep the money. So, what did you do with your ring?

After my first marriage i stopped wearing my ring immediatly. I wanted to ne done with that chapter of my life and for me it was inpowering to take it off i felt like iwas soo strong for being able to take it off. Of course it felt weird not wearing it. My x hit me and belittled me and to finally being strong enough to leave and take that ring off felt GOOD!!! But i sold my ring as fast as i could personally i felt if i sold it in my mind i felt that that was it no turning back like i did so many times before.It worked and i have no regrets.

Well that's definitely understandable for your situation. I'm glad that you found that strength to do that. It's very hard to leave a situation like that, and to be so strong minded and intelligent to have the thoughts of helping the pain go away by getting rid of the ring is awsome. You GO Girl!!
