Does changing your hairstyle improve your life or make you feel better about you

I wanted to know how many people here have changed their hairstyle and instantly they felt more attractive and better about life? I have gone from blonde, to brown hair (my natural colour)to black hair then had hair extensions put in, over the duration of one year. At first going from blonde to brown, I felt a bit down on myself as I was use to being blonde for six years, it was a dramatic change. Then when I got the dark hair extensions a few months later I felt really good about myself, but then that feeling wore off after a month. Now I am bored again and feeling unhappy so want new hairdo. Does anyone else feel this way? Does your hairstyle make you feel better or worse about yourself?

I think I only had my hair color tainted twice in my entire life. I have tried several hair style and I feel better sometimes especially when people tell me that I look better or I look younger. There were times when you suddenly had it cut short, peoplewould say that they prefer you having your hair longer but what can I do but wait for how many months just to have the length back it used to.
I think what other people say is not important since what matters is your own feeling towards your hairstyle.

That is true it matters what you think yourself about your hair as you are the one that has to live with it. I think I was influenced this time when changing my hair from blonde to black as my mum always thinks I suit dark hair better. Now I don't feel as good about myself even though other people thinks it looks better. It is up to our own personal preference. Thanks for your comments.

You sound alot like me, lol, when it comes to hairstyles. Although I have not tried the red look yet, do not think that would suit me. Interesting that you said red hair made you feel more bubbly. I have noticed that people with red hair are bubbly. What type of personality does the goth look give you littleowl, dark and mysterious?? Thanks again for your great responses. Let me know if you get any new hairdo's that make you feel super good, might give it a try.

When I get a haircut, usually I get a lot of positive feedback, which of course makes me feel good about a haircut. And I am usually happy about my haircuts too, but right now I am growing my hair long again. it's easier for me to manage when it's longer--and it looks better with less grooming lol

Yes I agree long hair looks better with less grooming. Have not ever really had short hairstyles myself, but I guess that would take a long time to groom and style each day. Whereas long hair you can slap it back in a ponytail and still look have decent, lol. Thanks for your reply.

Yeah, that's why I like it. Sometimes I am way to busy to deal with my hair lol. When my hair grows it becomes straighter and better looking. When it is cut it kind of becomes wavy and cury at the ends. I much prefer how it looks when it is longer and straighter. You put a brush through it and it looks nice. And I like putting it up in a pony tail, and then a clip in it so it waves over the clip and the band. I don't know if I described that hair do very good lol.

I change my hair style from time to time because I would be bored with the same style over and over again. I just can't stand that. I usually feel great and more energetic after a change of hair style. I am not sure why, but it makes me feel happy and content. Talking about it, I need to come up with a style to change to in the next couple of weeks *laughs*, I am getting bored with it!

*laughs* I haven't tried any programs but I do browse through magazines to get the exact look of what I want. The energetic part is usually when I change from long hair to shorter hair, I feel lighter with a clear mind *laughs*. I should cut my hair! I am slow in thinking now *laughs*.

Yeah hairstyles can make us more happy, if it is the right one of course. Energetic that is an interesting concept, did not think about that one, good response. Maybe look through some magazine see what style you like for your next one in a couple of weeks. Have you ever tried a computer program where you put your face and different hairstyles on your head. It is pretty good, that way you can see what suits you and what definately not to do. Thanks for your comments, have a great day.

Yes definitely. The hair style that suits your personality really improves our look and gives one confidence. It depends on person to person how they feel about the hair color change thing. If one feels that a different shade can give them a different and more confident look, then it is really worth doing it. I prefer dark shade and I occasionally color my hair.

If you are thinking about getting hair extensions make sure you look into the different types. Mine are bonded on with glue and they are becoming annoying after 4 months, starting to knot together, worried I am going to get dreadlocks, lol. But I have heard that the ones that get weaved on are pretty good. Thanks for your great response, I too believe that having a good hairstyle makes you happy? What was you favourite colour hair, id you like blonde, brown or black the best?

Dear friend,
I do like to change my hairstyle that fits my face and makes me feel comfortable. It gives me a refreshing look from same boring look. Altogether I feel those who gives a particular hairstyle are also well talented artist who could judge one beauty. I do often change my hairstyle even few my known people find difficult even to recognize me when I had a change it effects my face too.

Well actually, I just discovered this yesterday. I went and got my hair done in a loopy updo. I had a wedding to go to, and since I never ever do anything with my hair besides brush it I thought I would splurge. Including the tip it cost $37 at a locally owned salon. I feel so pretty!! I have decided to go and get my hair actually done about every other week. People used to do it a lot, but I guess time got away from them. I bought a sating cap to wear in my hair when I sleepy and I woke up and my hair still looks great. Maybe you should just get it done up in something you've always found pretty, but never tried. have really straight hair and I'm going for curls next week, my stylist has this thing that she says will put in curls that last for days. I'm excited already!!

Thanks for your response. Can't believe up untill now you have never done much to your hair. Glad you splurged on yourself, it is amazing how getting your hair done can make you feel so good. Also whenever you get your hair styled it also feels nicer too. Hope you enjoy your curls next week sounds good, especially if it will last for a few days.

Obviously it would make a great impact in life or boost your confidence if and when the output is good. I believe you heard about the saying " the hair is our crowning glory". So having a good hairstyle would surely give you more confidence in yourself when meeting people for business or for pleasure.

I don't usually get my haircut that often but sometimes whenever I do get my haircut It really does make me feel better...(like if it is the summer time and my hair gets kind of long and thick it really does make it that much hotter on me and whenever I get up in the morning times I can't ever get my hair to do anything)so whenever I go and have it cut it really does make me feel better in a few differnet ways...one it is defiently cooler on me and two whenever I get up in the morning I dont have to do much!

Yes a new haircut can make you happy if it makes you look better! A change of style revitalises you, and makes you feel fresh. I wouldn't dye my hair as I find it too drying and as it is black I would have to bleach it. I did find hair extensions a lot of fun and learned how to put temporary ones in myself for a night out which I loved. I am also thinking of getting a new haircut as my hair feels boring. A trip to the hairdressers is in order!

I acutally haven't changed my hair in many years. About a year and a half ago I gave myself bangs, but other than that i have had long straight har since highschool. I hae thought about getting my hair layered, but i am really worried about getting my hair cut and not liking it or it being hard to manage. I don't dye my hair anymore becuase it makes it too dry and I hate roots.

Hi Nykkee, yeah it is hard to change your hairstyle after having it long for so many years. It takes so long to grow, so you have to be sure that you are ready for change. I suppose you can always get hair extensions if you change your mind. But hair extensions annoyed me, hard to wash your hair and it gets really tatty and dry easy. Try some wigs on, to see if you like short hair, or various coloured hair. That might help you with making decisions on what to do with your hair. Thanks for your response.

For me, changing hairstyle really change my life. I am become more confident and happy with my new style. Usually i go to have my haircut to only a particular salon with hairdresser who is already "fit" for me.

Hi manya, I agree with you, I think hairstyles can have a huge impact on how we feel about ourselves. I am glad your new hairstyle made you more confident. I am currently not happy with my hair as I have it just below my shoulders and I was used to having long hair. Feels weird, therefore think my self esteem is a bit lower as I do not currently like my hair. Thanks for your response.
