remember that song? I don't, I just remember that one line of the song... LOL, but just as little things mean a lot, they are often what touches the heart and are remembered with the greatest of affection - kind of like my only remembering those few words from the song.
What EXTRA little things have you done, or do you do - that give your beloved that little smile and warmth of your affection?

I used to always pack a little love note into my husband's lunch box for him to read, sometimes it might be a biblical verse other times a simple endearing thought.
I got out of that practice somewhere along the line of our 20 year marriage,
I think I will start it up again. yeah, that's the ticket.

I remember when I was still in middle school, my mom would make me lunch everyday. She would always give me a hard boiled egg in the middle of my rice mound because I love eggs. She would give me extra fruits while my younger brother got extra meat. Till this day, I appreciate that she always went the extra mile to make me happy. =D

Modesta, I too use to write little notes and leave them in my husbands lunch box. Its been a long time since I have done this. With Valentines day coming up and the fact we have an anniversary of the first day we met February 4th coming along, I think this is a nice gesture to do for him. Thank you for the reminder. Often when we are watching TV together my husband will grab my feet and give them a good rub. Man I can not tell you how nice this feels. I have made my living on my feet, and even if I am not on them alot now, they still at times ache. He is not much on words, but when he does this it always touches my heart. I realize he remembers when they did hurt so badly.

aw....
my husband USED to do that too... actually he used to pick out the sock lint from between my toes for me.... lol, you know you are loved when someone is willing to do such a task. I broke the bones across the top of my feet though and have since been very sensitive about them being manipulated - so he rarely will touch them anymore.

I always kiss him goodbye and let him out the door, rather than just letting him leave, and I try to greet him at the door right away when he comes home (usually I hear him coming). I used to go to the window and wave as he drove away, but I've kind of gotten out of that habit. Thanks for the reminder - I need to start doing that again. Great question!

i believe in this one. because grand one's started from little things. simple text message to your loved one and just checking if they are ok. or simply preparing the bed for your parents, or as simple as just holding someone's hand and staring them in the eye with a loving look on your face.
