Hi! That's a really great deal. Any blouse under $10 is a steal. I never pay over $10 for a top unless it's worth the extra money! (LOL) I'm glad you're not planning on returning your new clothes because you got a really good buy. Thanks for sharing about your purchase.

I love leather shoes! They're very nice for rain, too, as long as they aren't the kind where your toes are peeking out! (LOL) Like sandals or something...thanks for sharing. I think I would have to waterproof my leather shoes for them to be ok in the rain. I'm glad you have nice rain shoes. I'm also glad our rainy weather is over here in Michigan! Take care.

I don't tend to go shopping much, I am not a shopper and will only go round the shops if I need something not to window shop or to amuse or entertain me. The last thing I bought was actually a dvd, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory which I treated myself to out of my Christmas money, I love Johnny Depp and I love the film, I have already watched it, twice at the movies and again on dvd! I never get fed up with this film and it will be given pride of place in my dvd collection. It was worth every penny. It was a bargain too £5.99 or $8

I like Johnny Depp too! You're exactly right. No one could possibly get sick of his movies. And $8 is most certainly a great deal. So...you would highly recommend the movie to me? I haven't seen it yet. I know it's a shame, but because you said so I really need to watch it now! Better yet, I'll probably just buy it. I'm glad you made the purchase and that you're happy you did.

I am the queen of thrift store shopping. So the last purchases I made were on Tuesday of this week when I went to the thrift store and found a multitude of treasures at next to nothing costs. The thrift store I love the most is about 45 minutes from where we live. It is run by the Mennonite Central Committee and they are very conscientious about the cleanliness and quality of everything that goes into the store. They have everything from major appliances to unique nick-knacks and good quality clothing.
So I spent $20.00 and bought two nearly new pair of shoes, a leather bag, belts, mitts, 2 leather portfolios for work, 20 linen place mats, 3 new pillar candles, two candle holders, an owl for my collection and some essential oils for our pots. I have included a photo to share my booty with you.
Why did I buy the things I did? Because they were a great deal and they add to the quality of our life. Take them back? Are you kidding...not with deals like that!!! Do I wish I handn't done so...never...I never ever have any regrets with thrift store shopping. Great items and great deals...can't beat that!Fun discussion...chat soon.

Hi, Perspectives! Your response (obviously) was perfect in every way. I loved the picture you included also! I was so excited to view your prized purchases because I'm such a shopaholic! (LOL) My only regret is that I'm not yet friends with you to comment on your photo! Wow, I couldn't have asked for a better, more specific response. You didn't leave out a single detail of your purchase. Another reason I love your response so much is because you're a friend after my own heart. I love thrift store shopping! You got a steal of a deal on all of your lovely items. You even included details as to the cleanliness of the store. They do keep them nice, don't they? I find that very inspiring. It makes their customers really want to shop there even though it is, after all, "just" a thrift store. (LOL) It also adds to the store atmosphere itself. I'm glad you are satisfied with your purchase. There's hardly a thing you can buy at a regular store nowadays for under $20! Good for you. I'm so glad you came out of that store better than you went in. Your resposne was very fun to read and makes me very happy. Thanks so much for sharing and happy shopping!

Wow...thank you so much for the glowing commentary on my response, photo...and for giving me a BR...and a friend request. Through it all we became better friends on top of all of that! I'd say I hit the jackpot with this one. Gracious...much appreciated...uh...ran out of steam (DUH) because I didn't want to say thank you again...but you get the idea!
So you are a 'thrifty' shopper too...wish we lived closer it is always fun to treasure hunt with a trusted gal-pal in two. Two sets of eyes...more treasures! My friend, hubby and I went back to Winkler (where the thrift store is) and took advantage of the 'bag day' special. Everything is 'nearly new' and another real haul. The cleanliness factor, great value and unique items makes me wonder why more people do not 'get over themselves' and their bias towards 'used' items. Oh well not for me to judge...people like you and me and savor the fun of finding great values for soooooo much less than we'd pay new. I have included a close up of a few of the booty I found there. The beauty products go in my travel bag in case I forget to pack my new stuff. Great in a 'pinch." I love owls...I found another for for my collection. The little hot plate was a buck and now my tea doesn't get cold. So Kewl...right. Only a fellow 'thrifter' (at least we are not grifters) would appreciate my bountiful basket!
Glad to learn of another dimension to our gal-pal commonalities. If you are even in Canada in the Southwestern area...let me know. I'll show you my thrift store...and maybe if I end up where you are you can show me yours. Would be a blast!
I responded to your comments on my site...hope you don't key on Mylot so much that you shortchange yourself on needed sleep!Cheers...

Hello again, Perspectives! It's wonderful to hear from you and receive your lengthy comment. It was enjoyable to read. You even included another picture of your findings! This type of thing is so incredibly exciting for me. I have to tell you about my experience this weekend. I don't know if you like garage sales, but I went to a whole bunch this past weekend. It was the most fun I've had in a long time! (LOL) My fiance and I found some really great deals. We went with his parents because they are true fans of garage sales. I found so many useful items for only $12. I don't have any pictures, but I got 2 pairs of jeans, (which are so hard to find for my size and shape!), 1 pair of denim capris, 2 denim knee-length skirts, 1 pair of Puma shoes, a laptop case, (which usually costs $50+ at a regular store), 1 polo shirt, and 1 dressy skirt. The clothes are like new and in excellent condition. That's a steal for $12! You'll have to let me know if you enjoy garage sales. I truly wish we lived closer, but I have to tell you that I'm from Michigan so we're probably closer than we originally thought! I've only been to Canada 2 or 3 times, but there's a good chance I'd visit again, especially if I could come to see you thrift stores! That would be amazing on top of meeting each other, myLot gal-pals! (LOL) That would be very exciting. If you're ever in the neighborhood, we'll have to go to some garage sales and thrift stores near where my fiance lives since they have better (cheaper) prices up there. He lives an hour north of me. I'm from the Detroit area, and he's from the Flint area. I'm sure you've heard of them. How exciting to find out all of this new information from you! You definitely deserved best response out of this discussion, and you continue to confirm that fact! Thank again for your wonderful comment and photo. This has been such an enjoyable discussion thanks to you. Please do continue informing me of your findings, and I'll do likewise. I need to get some pictures! (LOL)

An umbrella is a really good buy this time of year. Here in Michigan (US), we've been having a bit of the rainy weather here and there. I know I've been caught several times lately without my umbrella. It's not a very pleasant experience! If you don't mind my asking, do you know how much in US Dollars 100 pesos would be? I'm just curious to know how much your umbrellas cost there compared to here in America. Thanks!

I dont go shopping much, and with the prices of gas,and other items sky rocketing it is understandble why,the last thing I bought, however, would have to be a can of Skoal citrus pouches, which I purchased at Food Lion,I bought it because I like the way it tastes, and it helps me relax,it usually costs like three dollars and something, but if it is on MVP I can get two cans for right at six dollars, and no I have never thought about returning them, even though if I wanted too I couldnt, and yes there has been times I wished I hadnt bought it,so thats why I try to make my cans of dip last atleast two weeks.

That sounds delicious! It's a really good thing you don't go out shopping too much. There's less chance that you would spend money. I need to get better about NOT shopping. It's like a hobby of mine that I really need to stop unless I really need something. It's like you said...everything is so incredibly expensive that it costs an arm and a leg in gas just to get out to the store before you even buy anything! Mmmmm...anything having to do with food is never a regret for me! (LOL) Unless of course, it was not worth my while to buy and eat or was spoiled or something like that. Thanks for your input! Now I'm curious as to what your purchase tastes like!

I purchased a mobile phone recharge card - as you did not indicate value of items I can tell you about my last purchase. I recharged it in my mobile to call during necessity. As this is recharge card and already recharged in my mobile phone account so no question of return it.

You're right. I didn't mention price or value of the items. I was just curious as to what everyone here has bought most recently. I'm glad you have a recharge card for your phone because I know those can really come in handy. I'm glad you won't need to return it either. It's a great thing when a person can make a purchase and not have to waste time taking it back. Good for you!

Wow, that seems quite expensive for the piece of clothing you described, so I hope you can exchange it for one you like better since you won't return it. I know if I spent that much money on something, I'd want to make sure it was something I liked and would get a lot of use. Thank you for your response.

The last thing I bought was petrol. I bought it because my car was about to run out and it cost me $20. I didn't consider returning the petrol but I've considered returning the car and swapping it perhaps for a motorbike or scooter because it's sending me broke!!!!!!!!!

Forgive me for my ignorance (LOL), but what exactly is petrol? I'm curious to know since it has to do with the car. I can always use things to keep up my vehicles. Ugh...I'd do anything to get better gas mileage or not have to pay for gas at all for that matter anymore! (LOL) I should follow your suggestion and just ride my bike everywhere! I own two cars at the moment, so I'm selling one because it's a sportscar, and the other is newer and gets better gas mileage. The sportscar (a 1996 Chevy Camaro) still gets about 19 MPG on average. It's excellent gas mileage for a sportscar, but it's awful for my budget. I have to cut costs because gas prices are killing me! Oh well...the price we pay for convenient transportation. Car pooling is coming back again too. What a shame all of this. Anyway, sorry about that soap box I had to jump on! (LOL) Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you have no regrets with your latest purchase. I really appreciate you sharing your experience.

Last purchase I made was on Thursday night. I bought two books and I am really happy with it. Those two books cost around $20 all together and they are the later chapters to the one I am reading right now. I was thinking about getting it for days before I actually went to the bookstore and get them, so I am not regretting anything!

I agree with you because I'm the same exact way. The book stores and libraries here are enormous. I love going to Barnes & Noble the most because they sell used books for under $5 usually! I don't know if you've looked there at all, but they have quite a selection. I collect books like crazy and have way too many to read, but it's like you said - I always want to have books on the shelf waiting for me when I have time to curl up and read. I wish I had more time to read! Thanks again for sharing. I'm glad you never regret buying books. I never have either!

Oh I like your purchase a lot! I love books and reading...when I have time, of course. I wish I had more time to read. My sisters and I would always go to Barnes & Noble every Friday night around 10 p.m. to buy a couple books on clearance. The books would be in used condition, so we'd get them for under $5, sometimes even $1 or 75 cents for a book! Your two books for $20 is a really good deal too. I know books can be quite expensive, especially when they're from a series. I hope you enjoy the series you're reading. I'm happy to hear about what you bought. I'm definitely going to do some reading this weekend. You've inspired me! (LOL) Thank you for your response. :)

My apologies on the "blonde moment" I just had when I was commenting on your response! I said "I'm great to hear that..." or something like that. I think I was trying to type, "that's great" and "I'm glad" at the same time. Sorry about that! I hope that wasn't unclear. What I meant to say is that I'm glad to hear your mother like her gift and that's great you found something she really enjoyed. Good for you!

The plants sound pretty, and it's very neat that you got a fish...was it to eat or to have as a pet? (Just curious!) I'm excited for you to get whatever it is you ordered from Amazon.com too. I love ordering from there! If you don't mind my asking, I'm really curious now...what did you order that you're waiting to come from Amazon? Did it come yet? (Reason I ask is because sometimes there's a delay in my comments on responses. I try to comment as quickly as possible, but sometimes it doesn't work too well!) I hope you don't mind all of my questions, but I'm just curious. Thanks for your response.

My last major purchase was a Carseat from Target. We needed a second one for my sisters car. I wont be returning it.
I shopped online through the Apple store to get an Itunes Gift card. I used my www.bigcrumbs.com account (id bastet2329) so i am getting money back for buying it PLUS i got free shipping. Its like getting a free song or two!

I really like Target. There's such a variety of things to shop for there. As for your iTunes purchase, I think that's really neat. I knew you could buy gift cards and songs online, but I've never done so myself. That's cool that you got money back along with free shipping! It's not every day you can get a deal like that. Good for you at finding awesome buys. I absolutely love buying stuff online, especially when free shipping is involved. Thanks!

This is a pertinent post since I want to return it so badly but I can't. I bought an really expensive upper undergarment last week. I have always had problems buying one. I have to stick to only one brand. But last week I opted for a change over and bought one international brand as per my sister's advice. It looked so good and I didnot want to try it out. I am never fond of trying under garments. Now guess what, now I am finding it not ok. I know I am bit fidgety over stuffs like this but it feels bad. Moreover, it's quite expensive.
This is but life, hun.

I know exactly what you mean! I also hate trying this sort of thing on in the store. It's just strange to me. I know what size I wear, but I would have no idea if I were to buy an international made item. I've definitely been there and done that! I surely hope everything works out for you. Thanks for your post. It makes me feel a lot better about buying things that I soon regret and can't return. We've all been there and done that. You're right - it's just a fact of life. Thanks for sharing and happy shopping to you, my friend!

The last thing I went to the store and purchased was a workout mat from Wal-Mart. I've been meaning to get this because I work out in my own apartment with various equipment or just doing som personal exercises and I don't want to sweat all over the carpet. It only cost $18.99, so it was a good investment in keeping the house clean. I have not considered returning it at all.

A workout mat really is a great investment! I'm glad you're able to work out in the comfort of your own home. I do the same thing. I like to work out in my own room. I just like to do it all by myself without being at a gym since I feel like everyone else is looking at me and watching me. (LOL) Yours must be bigger than my workout mat. Mine is a bright blue color and it's probably a foot wide by two or three feet long. It's really soft and padded even though I work out in my bedroom, which has carpet on the floor. (LOL) It's still a nice combination, you know? I got my mat from $2 at Target! I'm sure yours is better quality. I have a workout ball too. It's got little rubber bumps on it that are supposed to massage a person's back while they lay on it to work out. Those bumps really do the trick! (They're also really nice if I have an itch on my back that I can't quite get to!) I don't know where all that came from (LOL), but I'm really happy for you that you made a great investment that you didn't regret. Thanks for sharing!

The last major purchase was groceries and I ended up spending about $200.00 total for them. My most recent purchase of anything was a pack of fig bars, Kettle Chips and granola bars at the dollar store. My only regret was that I didn't get more granola bars when I had the chance.

That's not too bad a price for groceries since they can really add up. I remember when I was younger, my mom would go to the grocery store each week and spend between $100 to $200 for groceries. There were six kids in my family, not including my parents, of course. That wasn't too high a price to feed eight people. Mmmmm...I know what you mean about regretting not buying more food! Food is always something that I can buy and own more of. (LOL) Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad you were able to get your face wash and clothes that you like and that are the right size. I know it's sometimes hard for me to find the right size clothing just by looking at it when I go shopping. A lot of times I have to try on the clothes to make sure they fit just right. I'm picky sometimes too! Thanks for sharing.
