I have some milkfish to make a meal with, but have never cooked it before. I have no idea what kind of flavor it has.... or how best to serve it.
I am told that Bangus is a primary Philipino fish
can you please tell me what to do with it? It is gutted and butterfly cut right now - raw.
thanks!

Try to marinate it with some salt, pepper, turmeric powder and some Worcestershire sauce for about 1-2 hours in the fridge. After that you can fry it or just bake them in the oven with some butter on top. Prepare your hot chili soy sauce too to dip them and eat with hot plain rice.

yeah, for the hot cili soy sauce you can make them like this one;
red bird eye chili pepper - if u like hot then can add more
thick soy sauce (sweet)
some sugar
some salt
juice from 1 lime juice
1 shallot - sliced
ok what u need to do is;
crashed the chili pepper together with salt, sugar in the mortar and pastel.
add the soy sauce and the lime juice - stir well
add in the shallot...
now it's ready to dip your fish

Hmmm very nice fish, but careful cause it usually got bones even if it says that its deboned. You can marinate it in lemon juice and soy sauce,crushed garlic and season it with a bit of salt. Just keep it in fridge for 20 mins and you'll get the flavor in it. Then when its ready just fry it(usually veg oil) and that will be ready for serving, serve it with rice. Enjoy!

This is one fish Modestah I have not heard of. I will be very interested to know how your dish turns out. I adore all manner of fish and seafood.

yes, you're right..rellenong bangus is stuffed inside.
sinigang is a soup dish with vegetables on it..
tomatoes, oninons, veggies like lettuce, okra, labanos (im not sure if its white raddish?), salt or (fish sauce), a piece of chilly (if you want it hot) and of course, tamarind mixture!
Sinigang milkfish specially the belly is one of my favorites!
