I quit smoking early 2007. I just thought of doing it because I realize my body can't handle it much anymore. Due to the fact that I got bronchitis twice and notice some problems with my lungs hurting. So I just said no
more. I don't miss - thank God I don't. Now when I see other people smoking I look at it like I remember when that was me. When I'm around friends and they smoke I kindly tell them not to spark it in front of me so that they can do it somewhere else.
If some ever say they can't stop smoking I tell them yes they can because all you have to do is say to yourself no more and no. I've known people in my life that were heavy smokers - they ended up with heavy issues with lung cancer, throat cancer and bad teeth.
I remember where we used to live there was a guy that lived upstairs next to us and just watching him die slowly
due to the fact he was a very heavy smoker. I saw him dying, getting thin, so unhappy and hearing the time when he died. My dad had a friend he used to work for - she too was a heavy smoker - so much that her voice was so deep it sounded like she swallowed 1,000 frogs - it was that bad. She died a couple of years ago from lung cancer. My dad used to be a heavy smoker, but he too stopped a long time ago - with all his symptoms after having four bypass heart surgery and other symptoms - he can't do it no more.
I can't do it no more and I'm glad I stopped. Remember it will creep up to you one day when you least expect it if you don't stop smoking. And I can say too for many years I have made excuses why I was smoking - because of stress? because it looks cool? No it just made me a fool realizing I was damaging my important insides that keep me breathing
everyday. Those commercials about anti-smoking is no joke - whether you mock it, insult it or laugh at it - it will creep up to you one day and you'll end up saying, "You know what? I should quit or have never started smoking."

Hello my friend c",) i would like to congratulate you for the best decision you just made. I admire people like you and hope everyone who reads this who are smoking will get at least a lesson to ponder. I too have seen the danger of smoking, i've known many who suffered w/ lung deseases because of smoking. I hate to see people who smoke specially if they are close to me, i don't quite understand it, i believe it's a waste of money. I think everyone is aware how dangerous smoking is but just ignores it, i never stop reminding them to stop it, so they don't smoke when i'm around i just don't know if i'm not. I am praying for them, that someday will find the will to change the habit that could kill them. I'm so happy for you my friend.God bless you and hope this post inspires another who was once lost like you. Thank you for posting this...take care c",)

That's a good lesson learn for you and I am glad you have stopped smoking for your own good. Honestly I hate the smell of it and do not like to be near it. I too tell my friends here not to even have it around me because the sense of it bugs me. I do believe the risk and dangers of second hand smoking. I'm sorry to hear about the lost of your friends and hope it is a lesson for you in the long run. About bronchitis yes true that is a very bad symptom to have and probably close like having Pneumonia. Good luck to you and good thing you have quit the bad habit.
