Sims cheat help!

Alright I was wondering how to get extras for my sims 2 but I was wondering if you need to be hooked up to the sims online? I got websites like modthesims.com and more. I need help on how to use it or get items from modthesims. Only if it is possible to do so without the game online. Please let me know.. Thanks
Also if you have other cheat sites for mods please let me know!!

well..for those items in MODTHESIMS, after reading the instructions given by the author, you just need to download the items and then put those ".package" files inside your My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads folder.
If you do not have a "Downloads" folder in your Save game folder then you need to create one by yourself.
about the cheat codes, you can search the internet for a lot of them.
Press ctrl+Shift+C, open the cheat code window and type in the certain cheat code so you can activate or use them.
Fir examples,
enter "moveObjects on" (without the quote) is to activate the code to move objects to wherever you want. "moveobjects off" on the other hand is to de-activate the cheat code.
"anging -off" is to stop your from aging so that they will not grow elder.
