Government Stimulus Package

I saw a discussion of FOX News this morning debating on if we really need a government stimulus package because Wal Mart is going to take markdowns of 30% on most of their items. That to me is absurd. Although I buy some things at Wal Mart, I don't want to exclusevely shop there for all my items, because frankly some of their inventory is not the best. I work for a clothing retailer and I will continue to support my place of business for clothing needs, not hand that money over to Wal Mart. Not just because I am biased here, but our clothing qualtiy and style is much better. And with Electronics, there are some nice items at Wal Mart, but sometimes Best Buy or Circuit City have the better selection. I would also hate to see other retailers I like to shop at go out of business and only have Wal Mart as my choice. What do you think?

Not sure what Wal Mart will reduce price, probably clothes and electronics that go thru that every year. Food and other items if markdown, it will be a lot less.
I too try to buy in small shops for clothing - have my own disappointment story with clothes in discount store - and electronics. A Wal Mart predominance is bad for us all, of course I profit from their low prices.
