Vegetable Clips

Has anyone had any success with vegetable clips? They suction cup for a short time, then my fish manage to get them off the wall or the floor of the tank. The zucchini is still on the clip and standing straight up.
I have tried putting gravel on the vegetable, but the fish enjoy digging out their food. We have had the Albino Catfish for about 6 months and this is the first time I have had bored fish.
Any ideas appreciated as they have lots of aquarium toys, so lots of items to play with in the tank.

Try to parboil the vegetables first, this will let them sink to the bottom of the tank without having to put any weight on them. I went to a tropical fish hatchery this weekend and in the bushymouth plecos tanks they had rusty nails that I thought had dropped in by accident but they actually used the nails put into the squash to hold the squash down for the catfish to eat. I am using other clamps to hold my vegetable down for the catfish. I tied a string to it so that I can pull it out with out having to put my hand in the tank.

Thanks I will try it, as I just bought them a new one today. I need to start growing them myself, as the price in the grocery store is really high. They are only leaving the skin and eating one every week.

Make sure that you cut a couple of slices through the rind (skin) so that the fish do not get caught in the circle of rind and maybe hurt or kill them.

It doesn't involve using the suction cup veggie clips (they either fall off, float, or the suction cup eventually curls so doesn't stay stuck so good...)but here are a few alternate suggestions...
stick a piece of silverwear through the center, like an old spoon you don't use. It will weigh the zucchini down so they can eat it.
Or, use a magnet. You can stick a magnet on the inside on top of the zucchini to hold it in place, then put another one on the outside of the tank. I've even tried this using those clip magnet things for the refrigerator and the algae magnet on the outside...it works!

I am now using the algae scraper to hold the vegetable in place. Vegetable clip is history, as it broke.
I have never had fish that were this smart. The string in the vegetable didn't work, as they ate the string off the vegetable. When I bought them I was told the females would stop growing when they reached 4 inches and somebody should have told my daughter's biggest fish. Yesterday she danced her way to me showing off and I put the tape measure up to the tank and she is almost 5 inches now.
She is a beautiful fish and truly is having fun getting anything off her food.I hope my algae scrapper stays on the wall.
