After drinking alcohol, what are its the physical effects on you?

Hello! I just went to a somewhat reunion with my high school classmates. We all sat around and ate, drank and got merry. A few laughs and the night went. One of their drinks was brandy which I also participated in drinking. I don't know why but, for some people, they tend to get red spots on their skin when they drink alcohol or any other physical effects but me, my head perspired. Just the head and the rest of my body didn't. Can anybody explain that if there is an explanation for it? How about you guys? What physical effects does drinking alcohol give you? We all know we get drunk or tipsy, that's a given. We're looking at physical effects. Thanks!
