Most people suffer from occasional forgetfulness, especially in later life when slower brain processing may make it harder for them to store and remember information.
Poor memory can also be due to lack of sleep; an underlying condition such as depression; stress; a thyroid disorder; excessive use of alcohol; or prescribed or recreational drugs. In most cases, memory improves again when the underlying problem is treated.
Do you have these problem? How do you deal with them?

Most of the following techniques use visualization and repetition, which help to store information in memory.
Pay attention, particularly in situations where you feel excited or under stress. Ask people to repeat information that doesn't register immediately. Then repeat it in your own words. Note landmarks along your route in unfamiliar surroundinga such as a large building or driving through a new town.
If you tend to forget a person's name moments after you are introduced, repeat the name back, then try to make a picture from it incorporating the person in front you.
To remember a list, use a set of locations in your home and put an item from the list in each one. Make the mental images incongruous and exaggerated.
Exercise your memory. Keep track of your money by remembering how and where you spent it since you last went to the bank.
I usually use the last one to exercise my memory! It is really working!

Poor memory happened to me after I took sleeping pill. I had sleeping problem and asked a doctor to prescribe the pill. Found that taking the pill cured the sleeping problem but I lost my knive sharp concerntration and memory.
Sometime I regret that I took the pill. Now my memory and concentration improved a bit after I add more fruit in my diet. They improvely considerably after I take manuka honey. Another one, I think regular exercise is good for memory too.

Drinking milk can help. Exercise your mind regularly to avoid having poor memory. Sometimes an idle brain seems to lose its effectiveness. I always do something when I think I'm idle and its paying off. Some of my friends has this poor memory. But I have a good one. Sometimes it also depends on the person.

I know some lifestyle changes can help preserve and improve one's memory. Like get a good night's sleep, take regular exercise, and include plenty of fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables, nuts, olives, granary bread, and cereals in our diet.
But to be frank, I really don't like drink milk, even I know it is good for health.

I have noticed that I am becoming forgetful this past few months. Although I am not at the point that I am alarmed already. But basically, I have noticed that I am a little bit forgetful already. I cannot ascertain what could have been the reason. Maybe its because I have not done much brain exercise like learning new things or studying since most of the work I do, is routine already for me. But it could also be some other factor. I am still trying to find out.
