The size of a monitor is a purely personal choice. I have a 19" TFT monitor, and a friend of mine has recently purchased a 24" widescreen, whereas many people are still very happy witn a 15" monitor. You may as well ask what is the correct size for a television, which as you know is whichever suits you.

i think with the recent standards changing i think it is better to have a 17 inch monitor cause a lot of softwares and other websotes are loking for high resolutions and also try to see if there is not much of difference then go for a 19 inch lcd to be safe. and the best thing about lcds are that you dont get exposed to too much radiotatin.

I recommend to you is 15 inch. don't use 17 inch because not good for the eyes.

There's not really a correct size...but it depends on your comfort.. Both 17-inch and 19-inch LCD monitor can provide you with resolutions of up to 1280x1024...or 1440x900 if its widescreen

your decision to change to lcd is a very good one. I use a 15 inch LCD monitor and i am very comfortable with it. I even watch movies and plays games with great graphics on it. i hav never felt need for a bigger monitor. moreover i think if you use big monitors it may harm your eyes. of course lcd has minimum radiation but you still hav to look at it, it may tire your eyes. and computers are going through changes everyday. if after sometimes you feel like changing your LCD monitor, you will be able to do so without much problems- you won't feel sorry about changing a small monitor and if you want to sell it you will find buyers more quickly.
